Take a moment to share:

Before we get into the preview for this week’s Vikings episode, “Valhalla Can Wait,” let’s take a moment to appreciate Lagertha’s (Katheryn Winnick) run on the show. As one of the original cast members, it was difficult to let her go. However, it stung a little less because they honored her so well in last week’s episode.

The Seer’s vision of Lagertha’s death came to fruition, and the city of Kattegat mourned the loss of their great shield-maiden. King Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) arrived just in time to see the Viking ship set on fire as he said his goodbye. Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) made his piece, while Torvi (Georgia Hirst) broke our hearts. Meanwhile, in Kiev, Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) gets a message from Prince Dir (Lenn Kudrjawizki).

In this week’s preview, King Bjorn discovers his mother’s killer was his brother, Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø). He not only has to deal with punishing him, but he must also protect Kattegat from King Harald (Peter Franzén). Despite winning the election, King Harald remains threatened by King Bjorn.

Watch the preview for Vikings episode “Valhalla Can Wait” below.

The official description of the episode is:

Bjorn faces a difficult decision. Ubbe and Torvi leave Kattegat, in search of new lands and perhaps old friends. Oleg’s plans for the invasion of Scandinavia are taking shape and as King Harald is baffled by the origin of a mysterious raiding party.

Vikings airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on History.
