Pete and Mike discuss the season 2 finale of Dead City.
Not a bad episode of Dead City:
Pete and Mike think the Dead City season 2 finale episode was great, but it just lacked a proper ending. The episode had a lot of things going on, which was great, but it was a sloppy season finale in our opinion. We feel like it could have done a bit better setting up a third season. We did not receive a detailed explanation of how Dama survived the fire that surrounded her, other than that she placed a walker in her place afterwards.
The episode had some funny lines, and both Negan and Bruegel used a Trojan Horse maneuver to try to take out the other. Whose Trojan Horse did you like better? Bruegel hid swords and weapons in a statue he brought as a gift. Negan had walkers hidden under a table full of food as a surprise dinner. The episode also had one of the best kills we have seen in an episode.
Where is Croat?
There was not a single image of Croat in this episode either. Where did he go? Did he leave town to go back to his home country of Croatia?
What is going on with Hershel?
During the episode, Hershel wanted Maggie to kill Negan so they could finally move forward. However, Maggie does not kill Negan. She comes close, but after seeing what happened to Ginny, Maggie could not bring herself to finish the job. Afterwards, Hershel is angry when Maggie returns, not having killed Negan. Maggie says that she will stay in the city, and if he needs her, she will be there.
Okay, I understand why Hershel is upset, but why does Maggie have to kill Negan? Yes, Negan has haunted her memories and dreams since he killed Glenn, but why would killing Negan solve that? The Dama is using Hershel. He is just not old or mature enough to see it.

Dead City future:
The three left standing in the season 2 finale were Maggie, Negan, and Armstrong. They will have to team up to figure things out in a third season, if there will be a third season. How will they go about their team-up? Who will they pursue first? The Dama or New Babylon, whose second wave entered the city without opposition because all the gangs had killed each other. New Babylon will have access to the methane operation. Will Dama try to team up with New Babylon? Or will she try to take them out as well? Who knows for sure, but it will be interesting to see how this plays out if there is a third season.
Best Kills:
Pete had asked me during the podcast which kill I thought was the best. And after thinking about it, I figured it out. My favorite kill scene was where Michonne and Rick take out a horde of walkers with two cars and a wire strung between them. Check out this clip!
Pete’s favorite kill scene is from The Walking Dead season 5 episode 1.
