Join Pete and Mike as they discuss the topics from the first two weeks of the NFL season.
Pete and Mike are back, discussing the news from the NFL, and who could fill Joe Burrow’s shoes, as he has suffered a toe injury and will miss at least three months. We recorded this podcast on Monday afternoon, September 15th, so there are still some questions about the final two games scheduled for Monday night. Will Justin Herbert continue his dominating down-the-field passing?
Mike is a Minnesota Vikings fan, and the team did not look good on Sunday night against the Atlanta Falcons. Pete mentions some betting odds during a couple of other games as well.
NFL Week 2:
Almost all of the games are complete from week 2. There are two Monday night games scheduled during the week 2 slate. Can the Buccaneers and Chargers keep up their winning ways?
The most entertaining game of the weekend was the showdown in Dallas. The New York Giants went into Dallas and were knocking on the door of a victory until the Dallas Cowboys’ kicker hit a 64-yard field goal with no time left on the clock to tie the game and send it to overtime. In overtime, both teams had the ball multiple times, and the kicker for Dallas, Brandon Aubrey, kicked a 46-yard game-winning field goal, again with no time left on the clock.
There have also been a bunch of excellent catches from multiple receivers through the first two weeks, and one of those receivers, Isaac TeSlaa from the Detroit Lions, has had two outstanding catches. Both of which have been sideline catches, one of which was a touchdown in week 1.
The Green Bay Packers’ defense is poised to be a formidable team to face this season. And Pete’s Super Bowl prediction remains accurate, as his two choices appear to be two of the best teams in the NFL. However, both Pete and Mike are excited to see what the rest of the season brings.
