The Village Season 2? Will it be renewed?

Prediction: The Village Season 2

The season 1 finale of The Village was definitely an emotional one – and it has fans asking…

Will be there be a season 2?

It’s a tough question to answer, but here’s what we know…

UPDATE 5/30/2019:

NBC has canceled The Village. See more here.

The Ratings

The ratings for The Village were never great – but they also didn’t bounce around too much. They were pretty consistent. They premiered with 4.8 million live viewers (and a .8 demo) – and have averaged just over 4M live throughout.

Is that enough?

No word from NBC…

Nothing from NBC regarding renewal or cancellation yet. Yet.

But we did see an interesting tweet from the show’s creator, Mike Daniels, after the finale.

Notice how they are family? But he says it was a labor of love. Past tense. As in no longer going to be? Or am I reading too much into this tweet? It sounds ominous to me.  But…

He CHANGED The Tweet

Notice the difference between the tweet above (now deleted) and the one below?

Thank you for watching #TheVillage s1. It was a labor of love. These people are my family. And so are you. Be kind to each other.@MichaelaMcManus@HWarrenChristie@GraceVanDien@LPToussaint@FrankieFaison@MoranAtias@MrJerodHaynes@DominicChianese@DarenKagasoff@JessicaRhoades pic.twitter.com/rJYoQj58He

He added "S1" to this tweet. S1 was the labor of love. So, does that mean there's more to come?

It's in the top 10

It's currently in the ratings top 10 (number 9) for NBC ... and 8 of the 10 have already been renewed. Only The Enemy Within and The Village are waiting on word.

Good Girls (which I really enjoy...) is currently # 17 and only averaging 2.3M live viewers... So, there's a realistic chance.

My Prediction

Originally (and almost this whole time) I've said it wouldn't be renewed. I thought NBC wanted more out of this show in terms of demo and ratings... BUT... I'm going to alter that original prediction now, and say - yes, I do think it will be renewed. I think this show will be saved.

Here's to hoping Villagers...
