The Baker and the Beauty
ABC announced a series pickup for The Baker and the Beauty, a romantic comedy based on the Israeli series with the same name. The show portrays an unlikely love story between a baker, working at the family business, and an international superstar.
The Israeli show is one of the highest rated scripted series ever for the country. It was created by Assi Azar and stars Rotem Sela and Avraham Aviv Alush. The original show is available to watch on Amazon Prime.

The US adaptation is written and produced by Dean Georgaris (The Brave) and the pilot is directed and produced by David Frankel (Band of Brothers).
It is set to star Nathalie Kelley as Noa Hollander and Victor Rasuk as Daniel Garcia.
Noa, a successful, international model, has recently broken up with her Hollywood boyfriend. Daniel, son of an immigrant family, lives at home with his parents and helps run the family bakery. As fate would have it, the two meet and form an unexpected attraction.

Georgaris recently penned the popular summer hit movie, The Meg. This is his second series pickup of the season with Bluff City Law recently confirmed at NBC. This marks the first time for Georgaris to have both pilots picked up to series.
David Frankel also directed and produced the pilot for the popular NBC drama Manifest.
