The Flash Episode 14

The Flash returned this week and brought with it some drama: Harry making a new friend and Ralph falling in love.

My first thoughts on this episode… I am not thrilled Patty is around. In my opinion, she seems boring and doesn’t come across as a very strong character.

Nothing is easy for Barry

The episode opens up with Barry being suspended indefinitely due to his trial. I’m pretty sure the new mayor has some deal with Devoe on this one.

I am truly happy that we are seeing more of Singh this season though. I hope he continues to be in it.

Ralph’s Evolution

Tonight’s episode introduced us to Izzy Bowin (played by Miranda MacDougall,) an up and coming country music singer with the power of sound waves.

Izzy was able to stop Devoe on her own with the element of surprise when he attacked – and Barry, Ralph and Cisco came to help her.

After Barry pushes Izzy to hard, Ralph is able to help talk her into staying. After Barry accidentally hurts her she took off. When they find her Devoe is able to capture her and is able to take over.

The final scene shows Ralph listening to Izzy’s CD alone. After telling Barry he could join his agency, he vows to take down Devoe.

I loved seeing Ralph become stronger and his human side come out. I hope Ralph gets a happy ending by the end of the season.

Harry and Cecile

I was glad to see Barry finally taking advice from Iris. I really enjoyed the ending when she said “kiss your wife”. It’s easy to love every moment when they remind us they are Barry and Iris West-Allen.

Watching Harry finally trust in someone else, as he put it “his own age,” was great. I am looking forward to hopefully more amusing conversations between Harry and Cecile.

All in all, this was a good episode. Lots of character development for back characters like Harry and Ralph. We saw they both had different sides to them and that’s what makes this show great. The characters are multi-dimensional, but at the same time – I won’t be sad if we never see Patti again.

Until next week…

The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8/9c on the CW. See you there!
