SCAD to shine light on the true crime genre.
In an ongoing series of single-day spotlights on television, the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) adds true crime to the agenda with upcoming event SCAD TVfest: True Crime. Dateline correspondents Andrea Canning and Josh Mankiewicz are two of several industry experts that will be on hand at SCAD’s state-of-the-art theater complex in Midtown Atlanta on Friday July 12. Attendees will enjoy panels, a writing workshop, plus an advance screening of a popular crime series.

Earlier SCAD TVfest spotlight events this year have covered Reality (unscripted ) television and Broadcasting/Documentary programming.
A screenwriting-focused event was celebrated concurrently with the Writer’s Guild Foundation pop-up library of screenwriting archives on campus.
SCADFILM produces additional year-round programming including SCAD AnimationFest, SCAD TVfest and the SCADFILM storytelling series. SCAD is the only university to boast professionally run casting offices, which operate from the Atlanta and Savannah campuses.
