Lincoln Rhyme Episode 8

The relationship between a parent and child sometimes is strained. Even so, that parent still loves their child and will do anything to protect them.

That’s what Victor Martinez (Played by Victor Williams) is willing to do when his daughter Teresa ( Played by Alysha Deslorieux) goes missing.

But he doesn’t have to worry, Lincoln Rhymes is on the case.

First Leads

Using Lincoln’s wide knowledge of the buildings in the city they find an old chute going too an old bank vault.

They also found Teresa’s purse and a cloth with chloroform in the chute. Along with mattresses in the vault.

The First Suspect

The first suspect for me was Mr. Martinez’s campaign manager, Shelby Yates (Played by Kersti Bryan).

She was acting strange and was to quick to jump on the ”pay the ransom” bandwagon.

But sadly, no one else saw her as a suspect, just insensitive to the situation.

Suspect Number Two

The boyfriend. Max Montel (played by Carlos Andrickson).

They found a video of them arguing on the stairwell of the hotel before she met with her dad. He also attended the same clinic she did. Her for depression and him for narcotics.

When Sellitto and Castillo pull up to him, he starts to run. But is quickly caught by Castillo.

It turns out he was running because he had weed on him and that would hurt his probation.

Also, Max had an alibi for the time she went missing from others at his job.

Suspect Number Three

After speaking to a member of the other campaign staff who met with Teresa at a restaurant, they found out he was trying to get evidence for money laundering by Martinez.

He even told them that Teresa was going to confront her father about it. Well, guess what, daddy got put on the suspect list.

But was quickly taken off when going through his books and the name of the person getting the money was Shelby.

Suspect Number Four

Guess what, we are back to Shelby, but with a twist. After finding out she was spending campaign money, they went to her house.

When they got there though, She was dying from an attack. Poor her.

While in the hospital she tells Sellitto it was her brother and his friend Nick.

So I was sort of right.

A Visit From Martinez

Victor visits Lincoln and tells him the kidnappers sent Jim something. That something was his daughter’s finger.

He asks Lincoln if he has kids and Lincoln says yes and that he would wait until the last possible minute to pay a ransom.

His logic of them possibly killing her is sound because once they have the money, they don’t need her.

Finding Teresa

After getting one of Teresa’s severed fingers that was sent to her dad, they figured out were she was being held.

Using liquid nitrogen, they knocked out the kidnappers and save Teresa.

Sellitto ends up having to shoot one of the criminals to save his partner, which he doesn’t seem to like.

Lincoln Caring

In another instant of them teasing a Lincoln and Amelia romance we see the soft side of Lincoln.

Amelia is giving herself one of her ”I am ok” speeches because of it being a kidnapping.

Lincoln tells her she will be fine because she is stronger than she thinks.

Hopefully not too long before they get together.

Back to The Story

The girl is safe but there is that pesky person called The Bone Collector still out there.

Peter

We see him getting his now-dead wife ready for chopping, but he isn’t  able to.

He still seems to have some humanity in him but it’s slowly dissipating.

After destroying the room in a fit of rage, he cleans it up and gets to what he has to do saying ”you shouldn’t have opened the box”.

Lincoln Finds The Bone Collector

After searching through cold kidnapping cases, they find one of his victims that had survived thirty years before.

Amelia goes to talk to him and after some gentle pushing, the man finally told them a name, Peter Taylor.

I can’t wait for the two-hour season finale next Friday. It’s going to be epic. I really do hope we are a renewal instead of a cancellation.

The game of the century is on now.

Final Thoughts

You can watch Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for The Bone Collector on NBC, Fridays at 9/8c and on Hulu.
