Dead To Me on Netflix: A Quick, Spoiler Free Review

Take a moment to share:

Netflix’s Dead To Me Is a Must Watch!

I’ve been in a funk lately, looking for something good to watch. My definition of good being mostly something with characters that I care about. I like characters that are broken and flawed, that need redemption. This is the single most important thing for me in a show, and it’s the one thing that’s hardest to find. I don’t want to just be entertained – I want to feel something deep and meaningful, and oh my, Dead To Me delivered, and then some!

A Stellar Cast

Dead To Me is from the brilliant Liz Feldman, and boasts a killer cast, with Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini, as well as James Marsden, Brandon Scott, Max Jenkins, Diana Maria Riva, and Valerie Mahaffey. Heck, this show has Ed Asner and Telma Hopkins! Seriously, does it get any better than that?

Lots of Twists and Surprises

The plot is simple – “A hotheaded widow searching for the hit-and-run driver who mowed down her husband befriends an eccentric optimist who isn’t quite what she seems.” But trust me, that doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface. The show is full of twists, and while I did guess a major surprise before it was revealed, most of it is totally unexpected and totally shocking.

Dead To Me has tons of drama and conflict. Seriously, every scene is packed with conflict, the kind that leaves you thinking, “How can this get any worse for these people?”  But there’s also a lot of humor, and some sweet and tender moments, too, and that balances it out nicely.

The Official Trailer

Season 1 of Dead To Me is on Netflix right now (I’m assuming there’s going to be a Season 2, no actually I’m praying there’s gonna be a Season 2). There are 10 episodes and they’re only around a half hour each, so it’s a quick watch, but it will leave you begging for more.

If you haven’t watched Dead To Me yet, please don’t waste one more minute – get over to Netflix ASAP and check it out!
