The Crossing Episode 3 – Recap

April 17, 2018 by Roo Black 1 Comment

Crossing Episode 2
Take a moment to share:

Episode 3 of the hot new drama, The Crossing, aired April 16th, on ABC.

Things are getting intense in Port Canaan this week.

Jude & Oliver

So throughout the episode, Jude’s son, Oliver, is visiting with him. You might remember that Jude has been separated from his son for some time. Jude takes him to Harborfest, plays games with his son, and generally tries to keep the mood light and fun. But things go terribly wrong when Reece shows up.

Reece

Miss Badass is still trying to get to her daughter, Leah. She was shot by the black ops team in the last episode, but being the APEX that she is, she digs the bullet out and she’s on the move again. She’s out in the woods, and the black ops team is hot on her trail. Have no fear, though, Reece literally twists these guys necks, killing the whole team, including their unnamed leader (played by the awesome Steve Harris) who blasts Reece with some kind of super sonic thing that only APEX can hear, and then threatened to put a bullet in her daughter’s head. That did it—snap, another neck broke.

After killing him, Reece goes to Harborfest, where she snatches Oliver. Yep, Reece took him, and she’s gonna use him to get Jude to take her to Leah; which, by the way, was set up perfectly with a conversation that Jude had with his son earlier. Oliver had asked him why he moved away from him, and Jude told him that some people were making threats, and so he had to move away in order to protect Oliver and his mom. He told him that he would do “anything” for him. I’m assuming anything means helping an APEX.

Meanwhile

  • Sophie Forbin, who specializes in Quarantine Measurements, is brought in, and she checks out Leah. She asks her if she’s been treated before, and Leah tells her yes, that her mom was the medicine. Sophie than talks to Rebecca, who at first won’t give her any information, but later tells her that the only ones who were immune were APEX.
  • Hannah is having a bad day. Some really creepy guy threatens to expose her, apparently she’s hiding a secret. So Hannah sneaks into the back of Roy’s truck, and escapes into town where she goes to Harborfest, and runs into Marshall, who she happened to have a photo of in a locket. She tells Marshall that “they” told her he was someone she could trust. Before he can find out what she means by that, Roy and Jude show up, and she’s whisked away. Back at the camp, creepy guy grabs Hannah in her cabin, and the cat is out of the bag—Hannah was an APEX colloberator.

  • Lindauer threatens Thomas, and persuades him to get the other refugees to cooperate, so he goes back to the camp and lies to them, tells them they’ll be taken care of if they do whatever they’re told to do. When Ren quesitons him, he says that he lied about the earlier migration.
  • Ren discovers that Lindauer has deleted all the files pertaining to the refugees. I think she’s on to him.

I really wish they would just get Reece to Leah already. Seems like the logical thing to do if they want to prevent an outbreak.

Your thoughts on Episode 3? Still liking the series? How do you feel about Hannah, knowing that she was an APEX colloberator? And why do I keep typing APEX in all caps?

Epsiode 4 of The Crossing airs April 23rd, 10/9 C, on ABC.
