SCAD TVfest 2023 welcomes the cast of National Treasure: Edge of History.

Cast members from the Disney+ series National Treasure: Edge of History were on hand at SCAD TVfest 2023 in Atlanta to talk about the show. Actors Lyndon Smith (Agent Ross), Jordan Rodrigues (Ethan Choi), Zuri Reed (Tasha Rivers) and Jake Austin Walker (Liam Sadusky) gathered on stage for a panel moderated by Gerrad Hall of Entertainment Weekly.

SCAD students and other attendees also enjoyed a screening of the season 1 finale of National Treasure: Edge of History. There was spontaneous laughter from the audience during the screening and cheers of celebration at the episode’s end.

Here are some of the highlights from the panel:

  • The cast enjoyed their stay in Baton Rouge while filming. Living on location together allowed for the cast to quickly develop legitimate chemistry. Jake shared that the bar where we first meet Liam in the show is an actual bar that the cast frequented. Interestingly, the studio in Baton Rouge was actually across from a Costco store.
  • Zuri Reed who plays Tasha commented on the great food Louisiana offers. Everyone appreciated the southern hospitality. Lyndon Smith who plays agent Ross commented that Baton Rouge was also like a character in the series. She shared that city landmarks were “woven into the show” and that it was a special opportunity to be able to film where the show actually takes place.
  • The cast had many great things to say about their time working with Catherine Zeta-Jones. They described her as “super sweet” with a great sense of humor. Lyndon commented how the “energy shifts” when Catherine walks on set.
  • Jordan Rodrigues who plays Ethan Choi talked about the value of not knowing everything ahead of time as far as the storyline. He explained that the showrunners helped keep the actors “in the moment” by not revealing everything up front. Jordan knew his character was described as a “boy scout” but originally assumed it was a metaphorical reference. Not until later did he learn that Ethan was an actual “Boy Scout”. While he admits to being “outdoorsy”, he does not claim to be as resourceful as his character in the great outdoors.
  • National Treasure: Edge of History certainly involves a lot of puzzles and clues. When asked who in the cast was the best at solving puzzles, the actors collectively agreed that Lisette Olivera (Jess) and Antonio Cipriano (Oren) would be the frontrunners in that category.
  • Somehow, the actors came to a conclusion that a subsequent season should be filmed in Spain. Interesting!
