What is San Jose’s Heroes and Villains Fan Fest?

Take a moment to share:

Welcome to Heroes and Villains Fan Fest San Jose:

For the third year straight, San Jose has had the opportunity to play home city to Fanfest. It is a two day affair located at the beautiful McEnery Convention Center located in beautiful downtown San Jose.

Guests have the chance to meet their favorite stars, mingle with artists and make some new friends.

This year they played host to multiple new stars and of course returning favorites. The ever popular fan favorite, Stephen Amell (Arrow, Ninja Turtles 2), who also owns a part of the convention was there both days. We also had the pleasure to welcome for the first time Emily Bett Rickards (Arrow), Rick Gonzalez (Arrow), Juliana Harkavy (Arrow, The Walking Dead) and Manu Bennett (Arrow, The Hobbit, The Shannara Chronicles).

Along with DC actors, Marvel had Ming-Na Wen (Agents of Shield, Mulan), Jon Bernthal (The Punisher, The Walking Dead, Daredevil), Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, Gilmore Girls), and Emma Dumont (The Gifted).

Throw in a ton more guests and you could spend all day just meeting all your favorite people, but then you would miss…

Panels, photo-op’s, vendors and artists

Each day they offer different panels or question and answer sessions – all with celebrity guests.

Along with this they also offer professional pictures with their guests.

On the main floor they have vendors that sell all sorts of fun things from art to toys. Along with this, there’s a dedicated section for kids to play in and get their energy out.

Everything is accessible to everyone, it’s disability friendly. They have a quiet room if you have sensory issues or just need to relax. They also have a card they give disabled patrons so they can get a return time for autographs or selfies at a celebrities booth. They make sure no matter your disability you’re taken care of. All of this though leads us to…

The unsung heroes: The Volunteers and Staff

The volunteers and staff work tirelessly to make sure everyone – from the celebrity guests, to the general admission guests and everyone in-between – have a safe and wonderful time. From making sure disabled patrons get up to greet the celebrities in a timely fashion, to making sure everything is safe and well taken care of, they are true heroes. So, if (and when) you go, please make sure to tell them thank you.

So that, in a very condensed nutshell, is Heroes and Villains Fan Fest. If you enjoy TV and movies and like to mingle with celebrities, check them out in a city near you. Until next year, here’s their website: Heroes and Villains Fanfest

Cities hosting the next Fanfest: Portland, Chicago, Nashville, and London!
