Fabel Entertainment plans to tell the tale of the Adidas brand.
Fabel Entertainment (Bosch, Bosch: Legacy) joins forces with No Fat Ego to develop and produce a scripted drama series about the family behind Adidas, the popular brand of clothing, shoes and athletic gear. Both production companies have secured exclusive rights to the Adidas story and are collaborating with AD Legacy, a company run by founder Adi Dassler’s grandchildren. Adidas will also partner in the project by sharing the company’s historical archives.
A dramatic tale
The 75-year-old Adidas brand was conceived in a small German town in 1948. Adi Dassler developed Adidas inside his mother’s garage. Later, Adi would compete with his brother Rudolf, who created Puma. A combination of family drama, historic moments and the unrelenting quest for success makes the Adidas story a compelling one.
The series will also shine light on athletes and celebrities outside the Dassler family who had an impact on the business. Music, politics and pop culture have all contributed to the Adidas brand and will be included in the historic journey that Fabel Entertainment and No Fat Ego plan to share.
Enthusiasm for the project
Fabel Entertainment CEO Henrik Bastin shares his enthusiasm for the project saying,
“Adapting the Adidas saga for screens is a dream for any producer. It has everything we look for in a series – heart, tension, high stakes, and of course, great characters. Teaming up with Niels Juul and No Fat Ego was a no-brainer, and we can’t wait to bring this story to life with them.”
Sofie Nordstrom, a partner at No Fat Ego (founded by Niels Juul, Ferrari, Killers of the Flower Moon) is excited about working with Fabel Entertainment sharing,
“At No Fat Ego, our goal is to always bring the perfect development and production teams together for any given story. Henrik and Melissa at Fabel were at the top of our list, as their record speaks for itself. We know that this incredible project is now in very strong and capable creative hands.”
