Abby Lee Miller Returns to Dance Moms Season 8
Before I share my real thoughts on this… Here’s the information…
A stint in federal prison and a surprise cancer diagnosis can’t stop Abby Lee Miller! She’s announced her inevitable return to Lifetime’s Dance Moms for Season 8 via Instagram:
Now, my thoughts…
I don’t usually post negative articles or thoughts on TV, but I can’t help it with this one… Why in the hell is this show STILL on the air?
Their main star/dancer, Maddie Ziegler, left the show. Their mainstay pain-in-the-ass, Abby Lee, was sent off to prison for fraud (after she “quit” the show) – and the Moms of these poor girls might be the most annoying on the planet. It’s time for them to go. For good.
Ratings?
The ratings for the show have steadily dropped since season 5… (Maybe because it’s the same nonsense every week?)
Sure, there will be a bump as fans of the show want to see how Abby Lee is doing – and they’ll want to feast on some of the drama found in each episode… But, really – what does this show give you as a viewer? (Spoiler alert: NOTHING)
The Dancers
Ok, I’ll be honest… Some of the dancers have a TON of talent and deserve to be showcased on television. But is this show really about them? No. It’s about the ridiculous drama that surrounds everyone except them.
Yeah, let’s take advantage of their talent and use them as an excuse to film their crazy parents and even crazier dance studio. No thanks.
Save us all…
Come on Lifetime… There’s no reason this nonsense needs to continue. Let Abby Lee continue with her dance studio OUTSIDE of our homes. Stop giving these parents an outlet to faux-fame and let the kids compete and thrive on their own.
End the drama. End the series. Let’s enjoy 2019.
