CW’s In the Dark Returns Early!

There has been a lot of negativity and confusion these past few weeks as the world deals with the COVID-19 virus pandemic. For TV fans, this means some show’s production has halted, others left without finales, and pilot filming dates put on hold. Networks have scrambled to provide fans entertainment during these times, and it’s arguably going to get worse before it gets better. However, for some TV viewers, shows are arriving earlier than scheduled. In the Dark is one of those shows. Initially set to premiere in May, the show’s second season is premiering on Thursday, April 16, at 9 pm on the CW network.

The What, Who, and Why

The show follows Murphy (Perry Mattfeld) as she navigates life as a blind woman that discovers her friend, Tyson, may have been murdered. With best friend Jess, new love interest Max, annoying coworker, and sometimes friend, Felix, she attempts to solve his murder on her own. She has some help from Detective Dean Riley and Darnell, Tyson’s less than honest cousin, but with plot twists and danger quite often a part of her life as the show progresses, things don’t settle easily. The show quickly proves even those you believe you can trust might be hiding something.

What to Expect

Honestly, the finale left off on quite a shocker, including Murphy’s deal with one of the show’s biggest villains. What about Max? He disappeared toward the end of the season, and we have no idea if he and Murphy will reunite. The show has yet to release a trailer or teaser, but for fans, this news still comes with great excitement.

What do you think will happen during season two? I am looking forward to seeing how the characters develop and if Murphy goes down a similar past to those she might have judged previously. Is there a redemption storyline in place for other characters? What about Dean’s daughter? Will Felix continue to be a character we love, but also still want to punch? Time will tell. Catch up now on the CW app, or Netflix before the show premieres. And if you want a little extra In the Dark in your life, check out our review of the first season in the link below!
