Take a moment to share:

There is a lot of love to go around on Council of Dads.

Council of Dads is a new drama coming to NBC. There is a beautiful family, a gorgeous dropback, and faithful friends. Despite all of that, no one is immune to the threat of disease. Such is the case for the Perry family on Council of Dads. Husband and father Scott Perry has received a cancer diagnosis. He responds by planning for fatherly involvement for his family in the event that he is no longer there.

What

The premise is new to television but not the literary world. Bestselling author Bruce Feiler wrote Council of Dads based on his personal experience. The series draws inspiration from the author’s decision to select important men in his life to serve on a council. Said council would collaboratively step in as the role of father to his children should he not survive a deadly form of cancer.

Who

The NBC drama centers on the Perry family. Robin and Scott Perry are raising 4 children ranging in from elementary school aged to young adult.

Sarah Wayne Callies who has a dedicated fandom from her work on Prison Break, The Walking Dead, Colony and more plays the role of Robin Perry who is blindsided by her husband’s cancer diagnosis. Clive Standen, J. August Richards and Michael O’Neill bring a wealth of love and talents to the roles of the “councilmen” Anthony, Oliver and Larry.

Where

The story takes place in Savannah, GA and is filmed on location there. Production has reportedly utilized The Crab Shack, a local fixture on Tybee Island.

We couldn't be more excited!! Be sure to watch the premiere of #NBC's #CouncilOfDads on March 10th and look for familiar scenes and places- you're sure to recognize #Savannah, #TybeeIsland, and #TheOriginalCrabShack! #OnSetAtTheCrabShack #CrabShackExperience #FilmedAtTheCrabShack pic.twitter.com/ozGR6MWw9U

When

The pilot episode of Council of Dads will air March 10th on NBC at 10/9c. The series will switch to an earlier Tuesday time slot after 3 weeks bumping up to 9/8c on March 31st.

Why

Who does not appreciate an inspirational story about a family’s love and care for one another?

Or maybe you are part of the Clive Standen fan club.  Perhaps you are a reader of Bruce Feiler’s best-selling books. Maybe you are a short hair enthusiast like me and love the impeccable pixie cut Michele Weaver dons in her portayal of daughter Luly. Come for any reason, then stay for the inspiration.
