Killjoys Episode 10
Everything comes to an end… That is so true when it comes to the season finale of Killjoys. There was laughter, tears and an ending that makes us wish it was next season already.
The Queen is back
We begin with the boys getting to know Aneela. She is her wonderful joyous self. As they leave Pree mentions that Dutch is drunk and Aneela says “that’s Pree, the bartender” and the boys respond with “very drunk”.
They take her to Lucy to head to the Armada ship and she explains that the green is a place where a persons memories are their greatest weakness.
The Armada ship
As they pass Turin, Aneela fakes being Dutch and Turin seems to buy it and they head to the lab
Zeph is still pissed
They head to the lab where Zeph is not in the mood for visitors.
Johnny tried to calm down the situation but Zeph isn’t having it. Though Aneela seems to like her.
Turin wasn’t fooled
Turin comes in to arrest Aneela for the deaths of the men and women of The RAC. I think he was going to mention Weej but stopped short.
Seeing the pain on his face while talking about it was sad. We got to see more of the human side of Turin.
Getting even more pissed, Zeph asks why they are having a standoff with guns. Aneela calms her down by talking about how men have to fight for their egos but it was also for their amusement.
The room clears out
Aneela tells the boys that she is taking just D’avin into the green because “Johnny favorite” as she called him was useless.
Johnny says he’s going with his brother to protect him. Aneela says that D’avins repulsive effect on the green is how they’ll stop the lady,
The fact Johnny explained as D’avin getting a “poo face” and then exploding people was hilarious.
In the green
D’av woke up in the green at the time that he came back from them trying to turn him Hullen. He fought the fake Dutch and ran out to find the real one and Johnny.
Painful memories
When Johnny wakes up in the green he is back when Pawter gets killed. He saves her and the head out into an alley.
Telling Johnny that he could stay with her forever, the fake Pawter tries to talk him into staying. When he tells her she’s not real, she says that it doesn’t matter, what he sees could be his reality.
Brother to the rescue
Having found Dutch, who proved it was her with a kiss after D’avin asks if she was the real Dutch, D’avin appears behind Johnny and places his hand on his brothers shoulder and leads him away.
Even though I’m not the biggest fan of the whole Johnny and Pawter coupling, the next statement from Johnny’s mouth is a heartbreaker.
As they are leaving, Johnny whose face shows just how much pain he’s in, asks his brother to not let him turn around. Letting us know that Johnny was broken inside.
The Lady and Aneela
The lady tries to talk Aneela into siding with her using the face of Delle Seyah.
Being as quick-witted as she is, Aneela acts like she’s turning on her friends.
As she leaves the room, with everyone pissed at her, she tells Dutch that “remember you were here, you mattered”.
Breaking the riddle
While Johnny talks about Aneela being the second biggest bitch in the J and that she was going to use the spore on them, Dutch figures out Aneela’s plan.
She had been there before. And because remembering something allows them to be there, she remembers Yalena and the spore and suddenly Dutch has it.
Goodbye Green
Dutch puts the spore in the green and they all run for it. Aneela follows them but looks back as they run.
We see the real Aneela unconscious and when she wakes the green world collapses around her.
As the camera pans away, we hear Aneela say “papa” as we see Khylen appear behind her and everything turns black.
I really hope that Aneela isn’t gone forever and hope they find a way to save her.
Leaving the green
As they leave the green, Dutch says Aneela is still in it. She turns back and the green has vanished.
Though as she looked into the water a hand grabs her wrist and the scene ends.
The lady has escaped but while team Awesomeforce was trying to stop her , something else was going down.
Old Westerly
The sickness
Things aren’t going well on old Westerly. It all starts with Gared noticing that Pree has a fever. But Pree just shakes it off.
But it isn’t just Pree. We learn that when Luvayan, Ginnys daughter, comes and tells Gared that her mother’s ill. Gared goes gets her and brings her to the Royale.
Enter Zeph
Coming down to the Royale from the Armada ship, She gives Pree a check up and sees that he is sick. And also looks at Ginny. Who swears like Pree she’s fine.
Gared than asks her to check on the others. Which is almost the whole town.
After doing some tests, Zeph realizes it was the kids they saved that brought the virus to Westerley.
After conveying that to Turin, She starts looking for a cure while Turin Reaches out to the Qresh for assistance.
While she is attempting that Ginny suddenly falls into a coma.
Zeph is in pain and not from an illness
Once she believes she has found a cure, She decides to try it on herself. But thankfully Pree stops her.
He tells her to try it on him. That a doctor is more useful than a bartender. Before finding out that she was only doing it because of the pain of losing Pip.
Pree tells her that what she was about to do was irrational and selfish. And not like what Pip did who made the hard call so they didn’t have to. She asks him how she can get over Pip. And He tells her you never get over things you just keep living.
Important things lost
After giving it to Pree, his vitals starts to get better but it has a side effect. It took away the memory of the one he loved the most Gared.
Ginny has also lost the memory of her daughter. And as Zeph tries to figure it out, she loses the one thing she’s always had, Her intelligence and concentration.
Meanwhile..
on the Armada ship
A Qresh representative shows up and Turin makes a plea to him for supplies.
But instead gets told that they are going destroy Westerly if a cure isn’t found.
Turin gets the call from Zeph right on time – she found a cure. This is prior to her finding out Pree lost his memory.
And Turin tells them their not blowing up anything.
An ending and a beginning
The end of the episode leaves us with more questions than answers.
We see Dutch and Johnny in bed, which I am not to unhappy about, and Johnny calls her Yalena.
They are married and own the Royale. Johnny leaves to go to work at the plant where he works with Gared.
Poor Turin though is a street urchin who obviously doesn’t like Johnny.
Johnny bumps into D’avin who is obviously a killjoy and isn’t related to Johnny. He also has a warrant for none other than his own son, Jaq Kin Rit.
The plant is shown and it has green smog flowing from it.
All the while we hear Dutch telling a story that her father told her about kids leaving breadcrumbs to always find their way home.
What could it all mean..?
We shall find out when Killjoys returns for its fifth and final season next year on the SYFY channel.
