The Making of a Podcast: Outtakes

Podcast Outtakes!

We cover a lot of television shows. So many shows, in fact… And one of our favorite ways to do that is via podcasting. You may have heard some of the ones we do for The Handmaid’s Tale, Bosch, This Is Us, Colony, and more…

Our most recent podcast endeavor is for the upcoming NBC legal drama, Bluff City Law.

Bluff City Podcast

We just released our first Bluff City Podcast yesterday.  It covers the official trailer, premise, and character discussion. It was a lot of fun to put together and is only 17 minutes long. So, check out the final cut if you haven’t already!

What it takes…

Many people think it’s pretty easy to put out your own podcast – and for the most part, it kinda is. It takes some time investment, planning, and “pre-discussion” to know what you’re going to talk about. The worst part, however, is the editing. Take the podcast we released yesterday… 17 total minutes… but in reality – we recorded well over 100 minutes of talk time.

Sometimes things don’t go according to plan. Sometimes someone flubs a line (or two, or three.) Heck, sometimes you even change your mind or direction you originally planned on going. Editing can be the worst – even though it’s necessary in order to publish your best.

An inside look:

Take a look at the video montage below. (We record via video as it’s easier to podcast when you can see each other!) You can also watch the video on our YouTube. (Subscribe!)

Wrap it up…

Podcasting is a ton of fun – and while we are always proud of the “finished product”, it’s also fun to look back at some of the mistakes and/or changes we made. Hope you enjoyed!
