The Hot Zone
A speed bump
As Jerry and his crew make their way to the monkey lab, they get a call from Ash (played by Bobby Moreno) that there is a reporter snooping around
Almost called off…
Not wanting to bring to much attention to what their doing Jerry almost aborts. But luckily Ash gets her to leave.
Back at the lab
Failing at talking Rhodes into doing a wider sweep. Which I can see his point but still, one needs to be careful.
Nancy takes the blood samples and tests them for Ebola.
Cleaning out the monkey lab
Jerry and his soldiers, get to work setting up safe zones and Jerry and carter set up the teams:
– A sedation team
– A blood draw team
– An euthanization , and bone marrow remover team
– A monkey incineration team
Monkey escapes…
Finding freedom
As one of the cages is opened, their surprised to find two monkeys in it. And one gets away.
Chasing a monkey
The monkey gives them the run for their money. And if it wasn’t diseased I would’ve rooted for the monkey.
Using the vents
As it tries to escape through the vents Jerry sends Ash who is still outside and another soldier to cut off its escape.
And it works. And the monkey is finally caught and sedated.
Finding the virus
As Jerry and the others are busy with that
Nancy, Peter and Ben go through the samples and find out that four of the lab patients have the Ebola virus
Noticing differences
Nancy is stumped as she notices the virus is different. And is also affecting humans differently. Than the Ebola Zaire.
Carter is on his own mission
As the others continue their work Carter goes through files. And good thing he does because he notices a missing monkey.
Jerry overdoes it
Though Jerry makes sure that the others take their breaks. He fails to do so.
And in the end passes out.
Luckily Nancy has just arrived and ready to take his place as they take him to the hospital.
Finding Carter
Noticing Carters absence she goes looking for him. And finds him looking through frozen monkeys
And when he tells her about the missing one. She tells him to go enlist help from Rhodes and put the past behind them.
More trouble
Just to give her a bigger headache news vans start showing up.
In comes Humbolt
Calling Humbolt to take care of it.
He shows up and the news guy tells him people saw men in hazmat suits.
Lying he tells them the monkeys have SHF. And if they want to come in and see and smell, dying decaying monkeys they could
Surprisingly they don’t and leave.
Leaving Hazleton
Later on we see Humbolt packing up his office.
Hopefully he went on to have a wonderful life. Maybe to become a doctor?
Back to taking care of the monkeys
Finding out they still have 300 monkeys to take care of they get to work.
Fake out
The smartest monkey in the place pulls one over on the person doing the euthanizations and pretends to be dead
And at the right moment attacks grabbing onto her face mask.
Luckily Nancy and others show up to sedate it time. Before it tore her suit or mask.
Going on break
As some of the soldiers are out on their break they notice needles just strewn everywhere on the ground.
Nancy saves the day
After being told about it, Nancy goes out and notices a little boy came through the fence. Between there and the park.
And gets him to drop the needle and is able to move him back into the park area.
Such a tense and emotional moment. It’s a good thing Nancy’s mother instincts came out.
Finished
Finally they get finished with the lab and clean it and close down shop.
But it’s not all happy
After giving a rousing speech to her troupes Tucker shows up.
