Jessica Jones and The Punisher – Canceled by Netflix
The rumors that have been swirling for some time now, are true… Netflix has indeed cancelled The Punisher after 2 seasons and Jessica Jones will not see a 4th. First broken by Deadline, Netflix made the announcement while praising both shows.
A surprise?
It shouldn’t come to a surprise with the new Disney streaming deal and the fact that Netflix already canceled Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Daredevil. That’s all she wrote for Netflix and Marvel – EXCEPT – they’ll remain on the service as Netflix co-owns the respective shows.
Will we see them elsewhere?
It’s possible with Disney’s new service that we could see the concepts again – but the actors, stories, and showrunners would all change. Marvel surely isn’t done yet, so stay tuned – I’m sure we will see some of these show again… somewhere.
