The Code Canceled!
Ugh. I knew it was coming. The ratings weren’t great for this show – but it was REALLY getting better and better as the episodes progressed. Sadly, in the end, it didn’t matter as CBS has pulled the plug after only one season. The Code has been canceled.
Now, we’ll never know…
- Will Turnbull make the 7th female General?
- Poor Major Ferry… He needed to be a Dad!
- Would Dobbins run for office by season 4?
- How did Li fair in SERE school?
A few saving graces?
I suppose as much as I want to complain – a few good things did happen within the first season.
- Rami took his oath – Glad to see that worked out for him
- Abe beat the mutiny charge (but was there ever any real doubt?)
- Adam Turnbull looked like he was finally turning the corner with his prosthetic
Where were the viewers?
I know some people had some issues initially with some of the military aspects of the show… But, come on, it’s Hollywood – it’s about entertainment and not everything is going to be perfect.
I’ll admit, the first 2 episodes were pretty good – but not great… It needed something.
AND IT GOT IT.
The show really started to hit it’s stride around episode 5 or 6. It was done really well – and I enjoyed following along with all of the characters. I’m really bummed – I wish people had continued to give this show a shot.

Unfortunately it’s true… @TheCodeCBS has come to an end and while I’m disappointed that I don’t get to continue this particular adventure with these stellar humans, I feel very grateful for, and proud of, the show we made. Thank you to all you wonderful people who watched @TheCodeCBS. Last night was our finale and sadly, no more. I’ll never make General. But I loved this cast of stellar actors & know we’ll meet again. Semper Fidelis. 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/kqjcZBTRzo

Boo they canceled us.
So grateful for the opportunity. So honored to work with these professional and kind friends of mine.
Also admittedly upset about this decision. We made a good show, with good humans, and this… https://t.co/lvTKJ5UVDf— Anna Wood (@annawoodyall) July 24, 2019
