The Exorcist Episode 10: Unworthy

Here we are…

We have hit the end of the season and sh*t hit the fan in the very beginning.

Father Bennett…

Is still in the hospital where we see him talking to his dead sister where he tells her he will never leave again.

Panning out to the hospital room we see two priests speaking about Bennett working with them. Uh oh. Looks like Bennett is about to become integrated.

Back on the island…

We see Marcus dragging Andy’s limp body back to the shed when Tomas shows up and, much to Marcus’s distaste, he shows up with Mouse.

Marcus and Mouse argue over the past but with prodding from Tomas, quickly work together to do the exorcism.

As they run out of time, Mouse wants to shoot Andy like she did Maria, but Marcus stops her. We learn from the demon that Marcus didn’t have to kill his abusive father after he killed his mother, but did because he liked the feeling. Marcus grins and says that he was the first to get that right. After realizing they are out of time Tomas makes a tough choice. He would offer himself to the demon.

After some back and forth and a promise from Marcus to bring him back, Tomas enters the demons domain.

Andy makes a tough choice

As time is running out and the demon is trying to integrate Tomas, Andy yells for Marcus to shoot him knowing that would be the only way to stop it. Marcus obliged but at a cost… his own soul.

My opinion…

I believe that this was the one thing the showrunners didn’t have to do. Andy said he should be the one to die for the deaths he caused but Angela Rance killed as well in the first season and lived. I feel Andy should’ve received his “happily ever after” like she did.

Back to the show where…

We see Rose answering police questions and Tomas watching the kids. Tomas tells them each what Andy’s final words were causing a lot of tears in the show – and from me.

Tomas goes back to the hotel where Marcus tells him that he isn’t going with him and Mouse because he is compromised for killing Andy. Tomas tells him that it isn’t forever and they will see each other again.

3 months later…

Rose picks up Truck and brings him to her home where the other children are waiting. She is their foster mom now and is looking to adopt.

And God spoke…

To a befuddled Marcus who was brought to tears from hearing and feeling God again. The last thing we see is Marcus looking scared and the last word of the season being “Tomas“.

This brings us to the end of another epic season. Let’s hope FOX does the right thing and renews it. So many unanswered questions. We need to know what becomes of a now possessed Bennett and what was it God said to shake Marcus to his core? Tell me your thoughts in the comments below!
