The Exchange

Last week Reece took Jude’s son, Oliver—she wants an exchange, her daughter for his son. This week, Jude breaks through the barricade at the camp, and demands to see Agent Ren. Ren takes him to see Leah, and explains that she’s too sick and that she’s contagious, and can’t be moved. She brings in Sophie, who confirms this. After Jude threatens to expose Leah, Sophie agrees to go with him, to explain to Reece why they can’t bring Leah. They snap a picture of the sick little girl, just for proof.

While Reece is waiting, she takes Oliver fishing. Only she didn’t know they needed poles. No worries, Reece will just take the poles from a couple of guys who are there fishing. But wait—they don’t want to give up their poles. Too bad they didn’t know who they were dealing with. Reece sends them limping back to their trucks, and she returns to Oliver, poles and tackle in hand. Oh, and then she makes like the world’s longest cast clear across the lake, much to Oliver’s amazement.

Jude and Sophie meet Reece and explain how sick Leah is. They can’t get Reece into the camp, but Sophie offers to take Reece and create the treatment that Leah needs, so she can take it back to her. Okay, I’m just gonna say this, I don’t trust Sophie. I don’t know, I just get this bad feeling about her. I think she’s up to no good. I’m just throwing it out there.

Jude gets Oliver back—Reece had already taken him back home. Oliver thinks Reece is Jude’s girlfriend, and he tells Jude he can do better. Well, darn, Oliver, I thought you liked Reece. I mean, she did take you fishing. Come on.

Creepy Guy

Hannah is still sweating it over creepy guy who threatened to tell the others that she was a collaborator, working with APEX—and she’s about to take this guy out with a knife when Caleb stops her. She tells Caleb the guy has been threatening her, and she confesses to him that she was a collaborator. Turns out, APEX had captured her dad, and threatened his life if she didn’t help them. Hannah knows Caleb killed APEX and those who helped them, so she tells him to go ahead and kill her, that she did what she had to do. But to her surprise and relief, Caleb says, “We all did.” He lets her go, and then he pays a little visit to creepy guy and tells him what’s gonna happen if he ever messes with Hannah again. Something tells me we’ve not heard the last of creepy guy, though. By the way, I think his name was Luke, but I like creepy guy better.

Also, while we’re talking about Hannah, remember Marshall? The guy she met at Harborfest? Well, he can’t quit thinking about Hannah, and he’s found the camp, but of course he can’t get in. So he comes up with a brilliant plan—he sends a drone over, with a phone, addressed to Hannah. Of course, like all brilliant plans, this one seems to fail when a bird attacks the drone. But Caleb finds the phone, and gives Marshall a ring. We’ll have to wait to see what they talk about, but I’m am dying to know why Hannah was told to find Marshall. What is his connection?

And Now for The Twist …

One of the refugees, Paul, had a sketch done of a woman he was looking for. He asked Ren to find her, he said it was his wife. Ren calls in (careful not to use the computer now) a facial recognition query and gets an address. She goes to the address, and finds the woman in the sketch, who confirms that Paul is her husband.

The woman says that she and Paul were married for nine years, and that Paul got into some kind of weird cult thing. She then tells Ren that the refugees are not from the future. WTH? What is this woman talking about?

The woman says she has an old pamplet and a letter of Paul’s and she goes to get them. While she’s gone, Ren looks at photos on the wall and sees … her boss, Lindauer, in one of the photos. Now she knows. But it’s too late … BOOM! The woman shoots Ren in the back. She’s down. Damn it. Why would Ren turn her back on that woman? She should know better.  I liked Agent Ren. I hope she doesn’t die.
