Prodigal Son Episode 12: Internal Affairs Preview

Anyone who watched last week’s midseason premiere knows it was crazy. The episode was action-packed, the edge of your seat drama,, and it did not disappoint fans who waited over a month to find out the fate of Malcolm Bright. Now, with the second half of the season upon us, what can fans expect?

Here are some questions I have:

Malcolm received some answers from John Watkins but experienced even more trauma. His mental status has been a disaster at best as of late… how much longer can one man go before he ultimately falls apart? And what about his actions?

If you’re like me, one of the things that draw you to this show is the dark humor and charm that is Malcolm Bright. But let’s talk real world: no one like him survives without recessions for long. I don’t like Colette, but from her standpoint, there is a point. Bright acts first, thinks later. And at some point, his friends in the NYPD might not be able to keep him from trouble.

Thus, the preview:

Scott Sheppard guest stars this week, a part of the Internal Affairs investigation request that Malcolm is psychologically evaluated to return to work. The preview ends with an ominous question, “You’re not going to sign on off on working here, are you?”

Is this the end for Malcolm?

My gut tells me no. I think Malcolm will skirt past another evaluation, but I do believe Gil needs to put a firmer hand on who he practically feels is his child. He might hate him for it, but Malcolm needs to get a hold of his life. The chances of that happening now that he knows his father tried to kill him? Slim, which is understandable on his end. But for the safety of the team, and for most importantly, Malcolm’s sanity, something has to give.

The preview makes this episode seem like it is a slower one, but I suspect as Malcolm disobeys rules and ignores his mental state, the season will heat up fast. I honestly am not sure where the show is leading, but I am looking forward to witnessing the crazy ride.

What do you think is going to happen? Let’s talk about it! And don’t forget to tune in on Monday night, 9/8 central on FOX when Prodigal Son airs!
