NOS4A2 Season 2 Finale – Episode 10: Bats

NOS4A2 Season 2 Finale
Take a moment to share:

NOS4A2 Season 2 Finale

All good things come to an end, and it did with the season 2 finale of NOS4A2…

Let’s take a look, shall we?

Charlie Manx and Vic McQueen

We see the final showdown between Manx and Vic.

In what is a funny scene, Manx, who is old and weak, has to get out of the wraith and open the gates to the now destroyed ChristmasLand himself.

His wife did warn him that if they went back, that Vic would destroy ChristmasLand and she did. He should’ve listened to his wife.

The End of Charlie Manx

Vic leads him on a chase into the shorter way, where she shows him who’s boss.

Calling upon her own strength, Vic uses the bats to slow the wraith and then collapses the shorter way and Manx with it.

The finality of Manx

In the end we see the wraith get smashed and we learn that Charlie’s body has been cremated after the fall from the bridge.

But, his legacy lives on with…

Millie Manx

Taking advantage of being free now she has gone from eating animals to killing people to survive.

She is also seen showing regret for leaving. She finds out the world isn’t as easy as she thought.

Millie is also angry that Vic killed her father, showing that she still really loved him.

And when Wayne shows up after running away to look for ChristmasLand ,they both swore to bring back ChristmasLand and all the kids.

When Vic shows up, she asks Wayne not to forget her, showing that she could love and care for others unlike her father.

I hope that if it gets a renewal this really wasn’t the last we shall see of Zachary Quinto as Charlie Manx.

But he’s not the only story that’s been told. Let’s see what Maggie’s ending was.

Maggie

After Tabitha brings back her tiles, that one of the children happen to have on them, she asks them how to get to the land of thought.

Now Maggie is showing signs of becoming like hourglass man. Who was dependent on his powers.

Even after destroying Manx and saving all the children taken by Manx, she still wants to follow the world of the creative.

I get it, it’s who she is but I think that when Vic told her she wanted to live in the real world and be with her family, she was telling her to find Tabitha and live her life.

After the tiles tell her “hotel” she goes to the same hotel that the hourglass man was at and takes the out of order elevator to lands unknown.

I wonder if it’s renewed if it will be Maggie’s story this time.

Lou and Tabitha

While waiting for Vic to return with Maggie.

Tabitha solves the riddle of the tiles, “When Souls fall” and figures out how to save Wayne.

When a handcuffed Wayne, who keeps trying to eat Tabitha every-time she gets close to him, stops and looks at a bat ornament, Tabitha gets an idea.

She takes the ornament and breaks it releasing Wayne’s soul and then her and Lou break the ones for the other children, freeing them all.

And now onto the one and only

Victoria McQueen

Vic is now living with her mom and stepdad, whom we still never see.

She notices that even after a couple months that Wayne isn’t really eating and still spitting up blood, making her worry.

We also learn that instead of drinking, Vic has gone back to drawing.

We Are Ok

She tells Wayne that she also has felt different inside after finding a picture he did of him and Millie.

Vic lets him know that’s why she chased Charlie and why he yearns for ChristmasLand.

She tells him that’s ok and that they will conquer it as a family.

I’m so glad things didn’t happen like the books and her and Lou had a happy ending.

The only thing that disappointed me was the lack of emotion when it came to Chris’s death.

No one seemed to bothered by his death.

Vic never actually said she forgave him which in my opinion was not very cool of the writers. He deserved more.

I really hope we see more of their family in a third season.

In conclusion

This show just gets better with every episode.

Having two episodes with no mention or sight of Bing was nice as well.

We also saw possible ideas for a future season.

1. We follow Maggie through the land of thought.

2. We see Millie find her humanity alongside Wayne

3. More Charlie Manx I would hope.

4. More Vic and Lou and I hope we get to see exactly what else Vic McQueen can do.

Let us hope we get a renewal for an even more awesome season 3.

NOS4A2 can be seen on AMC.
