Legends of Tomorrow Episode 14

The newest episode of Legends was all shook up for Nate and a heartbreak hotel for Mick. The Legends were all Rock and Roll for a Elvis Presley themed episode.

Elvis Presley

The King was in the house for this episode. Not only did we see him on his journey to bring people together with his music and hips, but we also found the sixth totem, the death totem.

The guitar young Elvis (played by Luke Bilyk) bought also came with the death totem attached. The soul of his long dead twin, Jesse (played by Luke Bilyk), who was stillborn at birth, was within the death totem. The connection with Jesse was what was pushing Elvis towards his musical future but also bringing back the souls of the dead. At the end of the episode Elvis learned that the connection with his brother would never disappear and gave Nate the death totem.

His Uncle Lucious (played by Geoffrey Blake) also learned some things from none other then the newest member of the team, Wally. Wally gave a riveting speech about how when he found Joe was his father, they had to work on a lot of things to find common ground. This brought Lucious to come to the conclusion in order to get close to his nephew, he had to be open to his nephews love and even got super excited when he heard him play on the radio the first time.

I know this episode wasn’t very historically correct on Elvis’s past, but it was touching and of course hearing Elvis songs is always a plus. I felt it not only was an interesting look at the king of rock and roll but also a unique way to bring Nate and Amaya closer and also help Zari and Wally co-exist.

Nate and Amaya

Ok – it’s no secret I’m a huge fan of this couple and this was an award winning episode for me. Every time they smile or dance, it’s magical. The chemistry between the two is great and they deserve to be happy.

Throughout the episode Nate was trying to get Amaya into rock and at the end Amaya shared some music of her land with him. Though it’s probably a tragic ending seeing as Amaya has to return to her time, we can enjoy these moments of true love between two people.

Mick, Ray and Axel

It was good to finally see Mick show some emotion. He showed a little when he lost Leonard, we saw a little when he saw his dad, but to see him care about something as simple as a rat so much was actually really touching. We also saw that he isn’t liking all the changes going on in the Waverider and showing us he has much deeper emotions than anyone would think.

Ray and his little funeral for Axel wasn’t only a touching gesture, but also showed how much he worried about Mick as a whole. His speech about accepting changes was striking and only Ray could find the words to bring tears to Mick’s eyes.

To be honest I cried through most of this episode. It was such a heart warming one.

Also, I love the little in memoriam at the end for Axel. It was sweet.

Wally and Zari

Zari was in charge of showing Wally the ropes and from the beginning you could tell his speeding to do everything bothered her.

In the end though Wally learned some things can’t be solved using his powers and Zari learned that sometimes she has to accept his powers and that they can be of use as well. So all in all, they learned to respect each other.

Sara and the Death Totem

At the end of the episode Ray locks the death totem away. As the episode comes to a close though we see it moving around. Then in the preview we hear what could be Laurels voice telling Sara to take it and she obviously does because we see her all death-witch style and Constantine trying to save her.

Will we see Laurel’s ghost and what will happen to Sara? Find out next Monday.

Legends of Tomorrow airs Mondays at 8/7c on the CW.
