BREAKING: House of Cards to end after 6th season

NETFLIX: House of Cards coming to an end…

Although currently filming it’s sixth season, sources (according to Deadline) report that Netflix is shutting down House of Cards amid sexual assault allegations against it’s star, Kevin Spacey. They’ll reportedly continue filming to finish out the series as it’s been said Netflix planned to end the series after season 6 regardless.

Less than 24 hours ago, Anthony Rapp (Star Trek: Discovery) made a claim of sexual assault by Spacey years ago when Rapp was only 14.  Spacey has since denied remembering the event in a statement released today.

House of Cards was Netflix’s first giant (and successful) foray into original programming. Season 6 is set to premiere sometime in 2018.

I think they should have Frank killed off instead of stopping the show. It will give the whole show new life and a new direction. If they write it creatively enough, they could even do it without Spacey even filming any more episodes. They could have him killed by explosion or in the dark (with a stunt double playing him) or some other way to make it look like him without Spacey actually playing him. I know the show centers on him, but it’s really an ensemble cast so why wouldn’t this work? I think I’m the only one who feels this way. . .

I think if it wasn’t the 6th season – they’d probably consider it. The british version only had 3 seasons i believe – so our version here doubled that. It’s such negative publicity that I think Netflix just wants to move past it… And now they’ve actually suspended production – and it’s only been going 2 weeks… So i’m wondering if they’re doing a whole re-write or even cancelling altogether.
