Bosch “Behind the Scenes” Part 3 with Director Trey Batchelor
The Everybody Counts Podcast spoke with Director Trey Batchelor for part 3 of our “behind the scenes” series. Anne and I enjoyed getting some great scoop and fascinating detail about the production of episode 5 ‘Money, Honey’.
So many unique details, techniques and insights are revealed by every different director and writer that we interview. Trey is no exception. I mean, no one else had yet talked about the impact of teeth color when telling a story on film. But we learned how it can make a difference!
We spent a lot of time learning about all the details that went into building the tension for the big reveal to Mrs. Kent at the end of the episode. As Anne said, Alicia Kent is so calm, cool and collected that “butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth”. That makes it all the more rewarding when Jerry catches her off guard.
Trey explains how the camera can make even a very short scene incredibly impactful based on the choices made in production. Fans can rest assured that Trey is just as passionate about creating the details as fans are of appreciating them on Bosch.
Many thanks to Trey! Enjoy!
