Walking Dead Episode 10: Stalker

This show wants to put me in an early grave.

Between Beta infiltrating Alexandria through a grave, and Daryl going one on one with Alpha, I feel like my heart beat out of my chest for an hour! Let’s start with Alpha and Daryl.

Looking for a Way In

Daryl is frantically searching for a way to save Connie and Magna, and on his way, he is taking out Whisperers.

This is all fine and good until the “queen bee” herself shows up.

One on One

Now both Alpha and Daryl are kickass fighters, and they literally kick each other’s asses. Daryl gives Alpha a fight for her money, even cutting her badly on her face and neck. Alpha repays him by hitting him hard in the head and then sticking a knife into his leg.

A Double K.O.

Daryl gets away to an abandoned gas station where Alpha trails him. Both of them couldn’t move well, and when Alpha saw walkers heading her way, she made noise to draw them in their direction. They, of course, ignore her and go straight for a bleeding Daryl who fights them off with a fire extinguisher and the knife from his leg. The knife must have knicked an artery, as when it is removed, he begins to gush blood.

Daryl fights them off and collapses.

Alpha is Losing It

Talking to herself, she sings the song she used to sing to Lydia and asks her to come home. She also tells Daryl that he has helped make her stronger. Daryl then takes it upon himself to say to her she doesn’t deserve Lydia and that she never loved her daughter. Never tell a psycho mom that she didn’t ever love her child. Though I don’t think she ever did in Alpha’s mind, she did.

Alpha tries to get to Daryl but collapses before she can make it to him.

Lydia

Lydia arrives and goes to her mother. She calls her mama, and Alpha tells her not to call her that.

Well, Lydia has finally had enough. After her mom tells her to kill her and take control of the whisperers, Lydia lets go of her mom’s hand and says “I’m not here for you” and walks away.

Saving Daryl

Later in the day, Daryl wakes up, and Lydia tells him he’s been sleeping most of the day. She said that she finally made her decision after watching both groups, and obviously, it was Daryl’s side. I’m glad Lydia is learning to stand on her own two feet. She has found her own inner strength.

Alpha

Alpha wakes up, surrounded by some Whisperers. She once again repeats that she is now stronger and starts chanting the Whisperer motto about being free. Well now that she’s pissed, things are going to get a whole lot worse very fast.

Meanwhile Back in Alexandria

Something wicked comes this way… it has double knives and is out for blood.

But first, what is everyone else up to?

Bad Dreams

Rosita is having nightmares stemming from Siddiq’s death about Whisperers killing her and baby Coco.

Gabriel

When Gamma comes to the gates, he has her jailed. Later he visits her and tells her she isn’t telling the whole truth.

He is also losing it a bit. He says that they will find all the Whisperers, and instead of killing them, they will “break all their fingers and pull out their teeth”, unnerving Rosita.

As Gabriel is getting ready to leave with the others to an outpost, Rosita tells him about the dreams. In a rare sweet moment, Gabriel kisses her, gives her his hat, and says, “I’ll see you soon,” reassuring her a little.

Gamma

While being interrogated by Gabriel, she confesses to them that she killed her own sister for Alpha, making her cry.

Later, Judith talks to her like she did Negan, giving her a new look on life. She also tells Judith she was from Santa Monica, and she was ordinary, and that’s all she remembers. Alpha had a way of making them forget their past. It doesn’t sound like it was pleasant.

When Rosita tells Judith to get inside because of the lockdown, Judith’s final words to Mary are, “you don’t look like a monster to me.” That little girl is going to save the world like her dad and mom.

Beta

Beta takes a secret path that Dante dug, leading from an abandoned R.V. to Cheryl’s grave inside the town.

Pulling out double knives, Beta enters a house and kills the occupants awaiting their turn to walkers. Once they turned, Beta searched for Gamma or her real name, Mary.

Finding his Prey

He finds Mary and tries to make her leave, but she won’t. Just as he’s about to take her, Laura comes in and tells Mary to run. Mary runs out, and Laura fights Beta and, after being thrown into the wall, doesn’t move. I hope she survived, but I don’t know how she could’ve. I bet Negan is going to be pissed.

Little Ass Kicker

Beta follows Mary into Judith and R.J.’s house, and when he starts to open the door they are behind, Judith shoots him, and she and R.J. run. It turns out the big guy has a bulletproof vest on. Rosita fights Beta to allow Judith, RJ, and Mary to run.

Just when Beta is about to kill Rosita, Mary comes in and threatens to kill herself, knowing that Alpha wanted her back alive. Beta lets Rosita go and leaves with Mary.

Gabriel to the Rescue

Gabriel and his team show up and scare off Beta, who leaves Mary behind. Mary says she wasn’t with him, and they let her know they trust her.

Aaron returns and lets Gabriel know that they got separated, and some didn’t make it out of the cave.

In the End

Rosita and a group are heading to Hilltop to get medical care. Rosita leaves Coco with Gabriel in Alexandria because she says it’s safer. They shared a sweet kiss again. It was great to see Aaron taking care of Mary, and the way he interacted with Gracie was amazing. I love it when they interact.

Final Thoughts

I love the interactions between Rosita and Gabriel since they had been so tense lately. Lindsley Register, who plays Laura, was amazing, and I hope we see her again. Thora Birch, who plays Gamma/Mary, really gave her best performance in this episode. She is turning into a character I like, and I hope she isn’t playing them. I loved seeing Lydia and Daryl interact again. I can’t wait to see what happens next week.
