We are still reeling from the significant loss of a critical character from last week as we watch the preview for the next Vikings episode, “The Ice Maiden.”
Our beloved Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) has entered the halls of Valhalla. Even though the famous shield-maiden was able to protect the villagers from White Hair (Kieran O’Reilly) and his bandits, she was not able to escape what The Seer foretold; a son of Ragnar would be the end of Lagertha. However, it was the least obvious of Ragnar’s sons who ended up fulfilling the destiny. Meanwhile, King Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) barely escaped King Harald (Peter Franzén) after the elections did not go according to King Olaf’s (Steven Berkoff) plan. In Kiev, Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky) and his new bride, Princess Katya (Alicia Agneson), tormented Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen).
In this week’s preview, King Bjorn and the rest of Kattegat mourn the loss of Lagertha. They give her a funeral fit for a Queen and a legend. While in Kiev, Prince Oleg’s army prepares for war. With only three episodes left until the mid-season finale, who will survive as the Rus wage war against the Vikings?
