The Lincoln Lawyer: Season 2 trailer shows Mickey in the spotlight

Netflix gives viewers a peek at what’s in store for The Lincoln Lawyer season 2.

The trailer released for season 2 shows Mickey living and working in the limelight. He’s taking interviews and getting his picture in the paper. Text appears on the screen that says “L.A.’s Most ‘Driven’ Lawyer”, pun most surely intended.

Speaking of driving, we get glimpses of Mickey’s faithful driver Izzy transporting him in the Lincoln. We see interactions with both ex-wives. Second (ex) wife Lorna and Cisco are still headed for the altar.  First (ex) wife Maggie seems a lot less angry with Mickey than when we last saw them together.

Mickey takes a punch in a parking garage and appears to be having a tryst with familiar The Fifth Witness book character Lisa Trammell. Lisa (played by Lana Parrilla) is seen reaching out to Mickey in a different way when she is arrested. Book readers will notice at least one thing similar and one thing different from the source material.

Other notable appearances are those of mentor Legal Siegel and Lorna’s pug Winston. I do not think we see Mickey and Maggie’s daughter, Hayley, in this trailer. I am looking forward to finding out what she is up to as well. We also get a glimpse of Yaya DeCosta playing a prosecutor across the aisle from Mickey in the courtroom. She certainly has the look of a formidable opponent.

Audiences can dive into the new season starting July 6th when the first 5 episodes will be released on Netflix. Be sure to tune in to our Lincoln Lawyer-themed podcast, the Lincoln Law Pod, for episodic recaps, cast interviews and insights from The Lincoln Lawyer showrunners.
