The Crossing Episode 6 aired May 7th, on ABC.
A series of flashbacks this week reveal a little more about our Sheriff … this ain’t his first run in with government corruption.
Jude Goes Back to Oakland
Well, we know Jude had some bad things go down in his past, but up until now we didn’t know the full details. This week, still trying to find what happened to Agent Ren, Jude goes back to Oakland, to get help from a former colleague. While he’s there, we get several flashbacks, and it turns out that Jude’s then boss was crooked, and was responsible for Jude’s partner being shot and killed. Jude tired to take him down, but his boss ultimately got away with it. This is who Jude was running from, why he had to move to another state in order to keep his family safe.
That wasn’t all he was running from, though. Jude also had a pretty bad pill addiction, and it caused problems in his marriage. So it shouldn’t really have come as a surprise when Jude gets some bad news from his wife—she’s met someone new. Damn.
But all is not lost, Jude’s colleague comes through, and gets him some information on Lindauer. Jude is onto him now, he knows he came in the first migration. And speak of the devil, Jude’s phone conveniently rings and it’s Lindauer, wanting to meet with him. Jude sets up a meeting place and when Lindauer arrives Nestor pulls him over and asks for his license and registration. Jude shows up and introduces himself, then he finds a gun in Lindauer’s glove compartment. That, along with the smell of alcohol in the car (I’m sure Jude wouldn’t make that up), is enough for an arrest. Nicely played, Jude. Our Sheriff ain’t no dummy.
The Secret is Out
Back at the camp, Caleb gets concerned when an electric fence goes up. He calls Marshall and asks him if the refugees are in the media. When Marshall tells him no, Caleb is even more worried. Marshall tells Caleb to send them pictures of the refugees and the camp on the phone, and then Marshall and his buddy upload the pictures to a conspiracy theory website. It doesn’t take long for Homeland to start doing some damage control.
The agents do a search around the camp, looking for the cell phone, and turn up empty handed at first—until Thomas overhears the phone vibrating and snitches. The agents find Caleb with the phone—busted. But that’s okay, Caleb throws the phone in the lake and tells them to “Go fetch.” Yay, Caleb!
Later, Caleb pays a visit to Thomas the snitch and gives him a lesson he won’t soon forget—a couple of busted kneecaps.
Bad News for Sophie
Sophie had planned to transfer Leah to the hospital, where Reece was going to go in and get her. But Lindauer, after seeing photos of the healed Leah and realizing what Sophie had done, fired her. And he had her blocked from the camp so that she couldn’t get back in to get Leah. It’s all good, though, Reece has her own plans—she gets some serious weapons from some Russian dudes—APEX is done playing, time to get her daughter back.
Things are not going well for Sophie, though—she begs Reece to help her, but Reece refuses. She only came to save one life, Leah’s. Sophie is driving and has what looks like a heart attack, and crashes her car (well, it didn’t really crash, it kind of gently rolled into some rocks). She ends up in the hospital and it looks like her heart is really bad—she isn’t going to make it. But maybe Reece will come through and heal her. I still think Sophie may be the whole reason for APEX getting started.
Still no news form Agent Ren. I was hoping she’d survived the shooting, but it’s not looking that way. Still, no body yet.
