Amazon Studios announced today that there are 2 new shows in development with popular characters from Michael Connelly.

There are plans for fan favorite Jerry Edgar to return to the small screen in a story based in Little Haiti in Miami. The storyline finds Edgar working as an undercover FBI operative.

Also in development is a show revolving around book character and Harry Bosch protege, Renee Ballard. Ballard’s story mirrors her job in the books where she manages the LAPD’s cold case unit.

Both projects have Fabel Entertainment at the helm alongside novelist Michael Connelly who is one of several executive producers assigned to the projects.

The expansion is sure to please rabid Connelly fans and dedicated viewers of the Bosch original series and spin-off Bosch: Legacy.

Casting decisions have not been solidified for either project, since they are still in the development phase.

In other news, Amazon Freevee has Bosch: Legacy season 2 planned for release in the fall of this year.
