The Village, The Enemy Within, Abby’s:
CANCELED
As first reported by Deadline, NBC has indeed canceled three freshmen series… The Village, The Enemy Within, and Abby’s – none will see a second season.
Why?
It ultimately comes down to ratings – and even though an announcement wasn’t made before the upfronts, (giving fans some hope…), it seemed likely that most (if not all) would receive the fateful news at some point.
And they did. None of the shows had stellar ratings in either demo or live viewing. The Village probably had the best chance with ratings that were the most consistent.
Can They Be Saved?
Not likely. I don’t expect to see a huge push from Abby’s fans – but it’s possible we could see some noise from fans of The Enemy Within or The Village.
If we notice any trending petitions or extensive “save my show” campaigns, we’ll update this article for other fans to take part.
I’ll Say It One More Time…
While fans are surely going to be upset – it’s important to remember to watch your favorites LIVE. Ratings mean revenue and revenue means future seasons.
