Designated Survivor – Sting of the Tail

Designated Survivor Patrick Lloyd

DESIGNATED SURVIVOR - "Sting of the Tail" - FBI Agent Hannah Wells finally closes in on Patrick Lloyd, but when the president decides to take action during the White House Correspondents Dinner, members of the Homeland Security Council threaten to derail their plans, on "Designated Survivor," airing WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 4 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT). (ABC/Ben Mark Holzberg) TERRY SERPICO

Sting of the Tail: Patrick Lloyd is a terrorist, murderer and father who leads FBI agents on a yearlong chase that culminates in his death.

In episode 2 of Designated Survivor, President Kirkman and his administration finally take out the man who destroyed the capital killing over a thousand people. Patrick Lloyd (Terry Sercpico) a seasoned operative, is on the run after his deadly plots of massacre were discovered.

In hot pursuit, Hannah Wells and new comer Damian Rennett (Ben Lawson) continue to just miss him until they catch a seemingly too good to be true break which kicks them back to square one.

Watching the Kirkman administration hunker down in the war room is intense and packed with action. This moment in the series reminded me why I tune in weekly.

The fate of Patrick Lloyd is left to the court system. It must be decided if they will save one man, who is an American Citizen threatening to release Sarin Gas onto 4 million people. The prosecutor is swayed to take him out. She did provide the loop hole for the administration to win the case.

Making The Call…

Given only seconds to make the final decision, President Kirkman gives the “GO.” A drone destroys Patrick Lloyd and any Sarin Gas that might be stored with him.

Is this the right call?  Should the president have waited?  All great questions that were resolved once the drone hit its target. This episode had reasonable moments of excitement.

The death of Patrick Lloyd tied up any remaining loose ends left over from season one’s plot line. Now its onward and upward as President Kirkman makes the White House his own.

After watching this episode, I’m left with three questions:

  1. Did the president regret his decision to use a drone?
  2. Will Hannah Wells and Damian Rennett become a couple?
  3. Who will betray the White House next?

Let me know your thoughts:
