Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 7: Vikingtown Sound

Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 7

MARVEL'S CLOAK & DAGGER - "Vikingtown Sound" - (Freeform/Alfonso Bresciani) OLIVIA HOLT

Cloak and Dagger: S2 Episode 7

Possible trigger warning: This weeks episode delved head first into the world of human trafficking and sex slavery.

We also deal with a grieving mother who just wants answers about her son.

This episode not only played with our hearts, but also made us look once again at society in a whole.

So… let’s begin, shall we?

Adina Johnson

Tyrone’s mother just wants to find peace for Billy.

To do that though she has to make the decision if Connors lives or dies.

Dinner: Crab Cakes

We watch as she prepares dinner and tells Connor that it’s the same meal she made the night after Billy went missing.

She also tells him that they are going to talk and see if his “usefulness” to Tyrone outweighs her wanting to kill him for murdering Billy.

Connors talks

He tells her all about the cover up and seeking the help. Then goes on to tell her about being alone with his thoughts and sins.

Adina isn’t having any of his shit. She doesn’t really care, but she continues to cook and lets him talk.

Enter the estranged husband

As if Adina needed more stress, Otis barges in going off about Connors. She tries to stop him from coming in but he pushes his way in and freaks out when he see’s Connors.

Adina drags Otis upstairs to explain things.

A viper never changes

While Adina and Otis argue upstairs Connors tries to get to the knife left on the counter therefore seeking his escape.

We all should’ve known we couldn’t trust Connors but before he could use the knife, which he picked up on his mouth, Adina and Otis comes back downstairs and he has to forgo his plan.

Adina drops the bomb

When the crab cakes were finally in the oven, Adina asked the most heartbreaking question ever, where Connors buried Billy.

Adina allows herself to break and says that she just wants to bury her baby right.

At first Connors is silent but finally gives up the information that he buried him in a horse stall at the fairgrounds.

Some sort of reprieve

She thanks him and gets out two plates, therefore symbolizing that he gets to live, for now at-least.

While Adina is trying to get information to help Tyrone,

Let’s see what he’s up to.

Tyrone

Tyrone meets Brigid at the weed growers where Tandy was taken. She st first thought it was mayhem until they found a melted shovel.

Tyrone meets Andre

Tyrone goes to see Lia, whom he knew Tandy was trying to get information from.

When he gets there he runs into Andre who takes the first opening to get into Tyrone’s head.

He tells Tyrone that Tandy is the white privileged girl who gets away with stuff he could only dream about.

This is actually a shout-out to one of the first arguments Tyrone and Tandy had. The sad part is, there is a lot of truth behind it.

The record plays

Seeing that Tyrone isn’t biting he flips his record to the “B” side, awakening Tyrone’s mistrust.

Andre tells Tyrone that Tandy probably skipped town on a bus and was two cities away by now. Continuing, Andre tells him that when the reaper comes he would pay the price for her sins.

A broken Tyrone

Tyrone literally gives up his search for Tandy until who other than Mayhem finds her way into Andre’s record store.

As Mayhem switches the records, Tyrone’s bus fills up with young ballerinas all in white like Tandy wore when they first met as children.

The only light hearted part of this episode is when Tyrone smiles and poofs off the bus and the girls are all confused.

Mayhem continues changing the discs and Tyrone sees the ambulances and realizes that he has to follow in one.

Tyrone steals an ambulance

Poofing into one of the passing ambulances, Tyrone knocks the driver out and steals it. He then proceeds to follow the others to the hotel Tandy’s at.

Finding Tandy

Tyrone crashes the ambulance into the side of the building and starts his search for Tandy.

They finally meet up, and just before we could get a reunion hug, which I’m still sour about, Tyrone collapses and disappears into the darkness with Tandy standing over him.

Bringing us to

Mayhem and Chantelle

Chantelle gets a visit from Andre

Saying he found her through Tyrone, Andre asks her about the symbol he has been seeing.

Chantelle tells him that it’s a veve, and it’s his. That his pain is just part of his journey of ascension to becoming a Loa.

When she refuses to tell about the symbol he uses his power to take her to the record store.

Chantelle sees Mayhem but says nothing, after telling Andre that he has become power hungry, he offers her the only way out, a quick death.

The minute her heart beat record stopped and she died I was heart broken. Chantelle was an awesome character and Angela Davis played her so well.

But as we all know, death is part of drama and this will dole sure bounce back on choices that Evita has to make going forward.

Ready for some Mayhem

After killing Chantelle, Andre leaves and Mayhem comes to play.

Destroying record after record, she sets the girls free from Andre’s hold. She is finally being able to help solve that case.

She also plays records to help Tandy and Tyrone along the way.

Who said a little mayhem was a bad thing? I think we learned it doesn’t have to be.

Which finally brings us to

Tandy

Prisoner

Tandy is still waking up from being drugged heavily. When she wakes she confronts Andre. When she tries to pull her light dagger and can’t and Andre lets her know that without hope, she has no power.

Brainwashed

Lia brings in Del, one of the missing young women. Through her Tandy learns there’s over a dozen girls living in the hotel. She tells Tandy that her parents abandoned her and Lia along with Andre take care of her for a price.

All she has to do is clean and have sex with clients, making her a slave but due to their brainwashing she thinks it’s a fair deal.

Escape

Tandy tries to escape when Andre leaves but is caught. Lia then forces Del to drug Tandy with a paralyzing drug.

Becoming a doll

While Tandy is laying in bed paralyzed and dazed, Lia tells her about how she grew up with brothers and how playing dress up was her escape.

Andre told her that her parents put their pain on her and that pain could be power.

Through the whole thing she is dressing Tandy in a white dress with a headband, like a doll.

Del to the rescue

While doing up Tandy’s face for her “job”, she tells Tandy that girls who try to escape died and that a bunch of girls from the other night found that out.

Tandy tells her that she saved those girls and they were safe.

Del finishes up saying Tandy “looks pretty” and leaves. Seeing a cell phone, she checks Tandy’s story and finds out its true.

Dagger awakens

A man comes into Tandy’s room, placing money on her table. While Tandy sits on the bed helplessly, she hears Del telling Lia that she has found her “hope”. She also lets her know that she knows her mom is looking for her.

As the man approaches Tandy, her light daggers appear and she goes through the hotel rescuing the girls.

She uses her daggers to crash through a wall where she finds none other then Tyrone.

And just as they are about to hug, Tyrone collapses into darkness.

Final thoughts

This episode was a hard one to watch. When you realize things like this actually go on, it breaks your heart.

In my opinion, the show not only did the storyline justice, they spread the word about this horrific and terrible business without pulling a single punch.

I hope that next week we finally see Tandy and Tyrone becoming closer in all ways. I can’t wait to see what actually happened to Tyrone as well.

Also, the impending moment when Evita finds her auntie is going to be devastating and I’m just not ready for anymore pain.
