Editorial correction to release schedule: Please note that 4 episodes of Bosch: Legacy season 2 will be released on October 20, 2023. There will be 2 additional episodes delivered each Friday through November 10.

Bosch: Legacy season 2 shows Harry facing his biggest fear.

Harry Bosch is a survivor. The detective turned private investigator has survived the foster system, war and 27 years with the LAPD. Harry seems capable of handling most anything that comes his way. But the one thing that probably haunts him the most is fear for his daughter’s safety when Bosch: Legacy returns.

The just released teaser trailer for Bosch: Legacy season 2 most definitely shows Maddie in harm’s way. Harry knows that the “Screen Cutter” is still at large. When he finds Maddie missing from her home with her bedroom window screen cut open, Harry’s biggest fear becomes reality as he tells Honey Chandler, “Maddie’s been taken.”

When?

Season 2 will premiere on Amazon Freevee on October 20th for the U.S., UK, Germany and Austria. The series will also be available day-and-date as an Amazon Original in 35 other territories around the world via Prime Video.

The first two four episodes will be available on October 20th with two additional episodes arriving each Friday through November 18th 10th.

What?

Clearly, the first order of business is the search for Maddie. We see the masked “Screen Cutter” coming after the rookie police officer inside her home. Upon Harry’s arrival, she is gone. Harry reaches out to those in his circle of trust – his former partner RHD Detective Jerry Edgar, attorney Honey Chandler and investigative sidekick Mo Bassi. It’s all hands on deck with Maddie’s partner Officer Reina Vasquez, Sgt. “Mank” Mankiewicz and fellow rookie Officer Rico Perez all shown in the teaser invested in the search.

As probably expected, we see Harry pushing the boundaries of protocol. Harry is no longer a detective, and Jerry reminds him of the importance of following the proper steps in the investigation. Could Harry’s emotional investment hinder the search effort? He implores Jerry to not “cut [him] out” of the search.

In a very unsettling sequence, we hear who we assume to be the abductor refusing to say whether Maddie is alive or not. Harry breaks down collapsed on the ground. In the final shot of the teaser, Harry goes to the morgue to look at a victim. As if our fear for Maddie is not stressful enough, seeing Harry’s heartache and desperation is utterly painful.

What else?

In addition to Maddie’s plotline, Amazon Freevee also shared that Harry and Honey will be paired in a search for a killer who may be on their trail. Also, the murder of Carl Rogers is under the keen review of the FBI with Honey and Harry on their radar. The intensity of this season feels off the charts!

In addition to returning characters shared in our last post, there are also several newcomers for season 2.
