The Talking Dead Ultimate Fan – Help Kris Win!
The Walking Dead has about 28 bazillion fans. I’m pretty sure that’s an accurate statistic – but don’t ask me for a source… Just go with it. Why do I bring this up? Well, AMC’s Talking Dead is looking for the “Ultimate Fan” and so it has to come from one of those 28 bazillion.
Lucky for me, I know someone who knows someone – And they’re actually in the running to win this contest! So, I decided it was only appropriate if we asked this ultimate-fan-to-be a few questions and then ask our readers to help vote her to victory!
Meet Kristen!
Our hopeful victor comes to us from the great state of Maryland (Yay! Me too!) and is a middle school teacher and guidance counselor. She actually grew up spending many holidays and family events in a funeral home (no joke) and she loves all things scary.
Overall, she’s pretty darn awesome, but you probably guessed that already… otherwise I wouldn’t be introducing you!

I couldn’t help it – I had to ask Kristen a few questions about her love for The Walking Dead…
Who is your favorite character?
…has to be Michonne because she is a badass! She is a strong, tough woman. The first time we see her, she has walkers on chains like pets. She keeps Rick in check, she deals well with others, and her katana is the weapon that I would want in a zombie apocalypse.
What is your favorite TWD episode?
Ooooh, tough one. I like two; the really deep episode where Rick gives his “we are the walking dead” speech as he reflects on what life is like in their situation AND the episode where Rick and Daryl are out trying to find supplies and they find the sorghum barn and meet Jesus. That one is just hilarious!
What prompted you to submit a video for the Ultimate Fan contest?
Well, I’m a geek at heart; have been since I saw Star Wars when it first opened in theaters when I was 3 years old. I love watching TWD, I love talking about TWD. Part of my attraction to the show has to be the psychological part of it; analyzing why people behave the way they do and what might happen if society (as we know it) broke down. That being said, I also thought I had a pretty funny concept for a video and a friend who knows how to make films, so I thought, “What the hell? It’s one thing I can check off my bucket list.” I actually made the film last year and missed the submission deadline. I sent it in this year and never thought it would make the cut for voting!
If you win – Who do you want sitting on the couch with you?
Anyone! Everyone! I would most like to meet Norman Reedus, Andrew Lincoln or Danai Gurira because they are the show. I would love meeting Lauren Cohan or Jeffrey Dean Morgan because I’m a huge fan of Supernatural, too. Ross Marquand is hilarious. Tom Payne is a beautiful actor. If we’re including the behind the scenes people – totally Greg Nicotero. He’s brilliantly talented and comes up with some really gross gags. Really, I would be happy meeting anyone.
Why should the other 27.9999 gazillion fans vote for you?
I think that other TWD fans should vote for me because I’m just a fan. I’m not out to become an actress or get screen time to maybe get a gig on a reality show or something else. I just love the show. I love the show as it is. Everything that goes into developing the episodes whether they are different from the comics or not shows the talent that is a part of the cast and crew. I love that the actors have such great relationships and a vibe with each other that they are genuinely heart broken when someone leaves. I love that it keeps me guessing and that so many other people love the show. Also, I can be damn funny at times!
