There is casting news for The Lincoln Lawyer television series.

The first role has been cast for The Lincoln Lawyer series in the works at CBS. Fans have been anxious for news about casting for the David E. Kelley project. Deadline reported earlier today that Kiele Sanchez has been selected to play Lorna. You may know Sanchez from previous roles on Kingdom and The Glades.

Aficionados of Michael Connelly’s work, including The Lincoln Lawyer literary character named Mickey Haller, will know that Lorna is a key figure in the lawyer’s work as a defense attorney. Lorna (whose last name is Taylor in the novels) is Mickey’s much valued assistant.

Lorna manages the business, fielding calls about potential new cases and doing research on current ones, all while Mickey goes about town working from backseat of his Lincoln. Of course, that means Mickey has a driver that also plays a vital role in the books.

*Spoiler Alert* for those who have not read the books. Lorna (last name Taylor in the books) was previously married to Mickey in the novels in addition to being his valued assistant in the practice.

The Deadline article written by Nellie Andreeva and Denise Petski refers to Sanchez’s character as a “female lead” and “co-star”. I am excited to hear that her character will play a central role in the much anticipated series. Deadline also reports that Tom Humphrey will serve as show runner in addition to his executive producing role. Adam Bernstein has will direct as well as serve as one of the executive producers.

Michael Connelly is very much attached to the project an executive producer. The author shared that The Lincoln Lawyer series could arrive as early as fall of 2020. That feels within reach!
