Angus Sampson takes on the role of Cisco for The Lincoln Lawyer television series.
Update: The Lincoln Lawyer landed at Netflix instead of CBS. Sampson maintains the role of Cisco in the Netflix production but now plays alongside Becki Newton instead of Kiele Sanchez when the Lorna character was recast.
A second role has been cast for David E. Kelley’s adaptation of The Lincoln Lawyer. Deadline reported on 2/19 that actor Angus Sampson will be filling the big shoes of Cisco (last name Wojciechowski in the books by Michael Connelly).

The Deadline post describes the Cisco character as a “series regular” playing “opposite” Kiele Sanchez in the role of Lorna. This matches up with the fact that the two characters are husband and wife in the Connelly novels featuring Mickey Haller aka “The Lincoln Lawyer” who works from the backseat of his car. With that said, we do not know for certain if the television series will maintain the matrimonial relationship.
In the novels, Cisco and Lorna are both critical players in Haller’s work as a defense attorney. Cisco works as Mickey’s capable investigator of large stature who rides a motorcycle. Lorna manages the physical office, screens potential new cases and, truth be told, sometimes makes investigative inquiries as well.
Fans may recognize Angus Sampson from roles in television’s Fargo and the feature film Mad Max: Fury Road. Fans of The Walking Dead know Sampson as “Ozzy”, leader of the Highwaymen.
It is great to see the cast coming together for The Lincoln Lawyer on CBS. While fans long to find out who will be playing “The Lincoln Lawyer” himself, each casting announcement brings us a little bit closer to seeing the series come to life.
Michael Connelly is very much attached to the project an executive producer. The author shared that The Lincoln Lawyer series could arrive as early as fall of 2020.
