The Emmys Are Coming!

Excitement For The Emmys!

It’s been a fantastic year of primetime television! The only thing more rewarding than watching our favorite characters is when the actors and actresses who portray them (and those working behind the scenes) are honored for their outstanding performances. Hooray for The Emmys!

The nominees for the 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced back in July.

Online – And Some Snubs!

Did you notice the exciting and dramatic increase in recognition across online platforms? For example, last year Hulu only had 2 nominations. Compare to this year’s 18 noms. Netflix nearly doubled its 54 nominations from last year, with 92 nominations this time around.

As always, the academy committed a few glaring snubs—no love for Bates Motel (again), and The Leftovers was shockingly ignored, save for Ann Dowd’s much deserved nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. The brilliant actress is also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Aunt Lydia, in Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale.

Here are a few Key Category Nominations, and you can see the complete list of Emmy nominations at Emmys.com.
