Crossing Episode 2

The Crossing Episode 9 aired June 4th, on ABC.

The story continues to unfold with new information and one shocking twist!

Meet Diana

Remember the lady who was in the crowd of protesters trying to get into the camp last week? She’s one of them. But we already knew that, right? Our Sheriff was on to her, too, and when she couldn’t name a single Kardashian (the horror!) his suspicions were confirmed—Jude followed her back to an abandoned house where she was staying and she finally confessed. In a series of flashbacks (or flashforwards, depending on how you look at it), we see that she was in charge at the portal, she led the people to the threshold to help them cross over. But there was a problem, APEX showed up, and they had to hurry. There was no time to calibrate and that’s why it went wrong and they ended up in the water. Diana was supposed to stay behind and make sure the portal closed so that no one else could cross, but she didn’t. So now she has this machine, a detector, that’s supposed to show some kind of a reaction if somebody else crosses. My guess is that someone else is coming, maybe another APEX.

With Diana helping Jude now, he begins to put things together. She helps him put names to those who came in the first crossing: Noah (Lindauer), and Eve (Paul’s wife). But Lindauer finds out about Diana and sends someone to take her out, Delilah, a killer from the future. Of course Jude doesn’t turn her over. Jude gets a phone call from Paul, upset after talking to his wife. Paul tells Jude about the tape that Eve had him make, about the whole cult thing, and Jude knows the plan now: they’re going to kill everyone at the camp. Jude and Diana try to come up with a way to save the refugees, and Diana says that she can build a machine to make them disappear. Just then our Marshall shows up and says to count him in. About time you got with the program, Marshall.

Naomi Makes a Prediction

Our young prophet has managed to gather a small group of people who are going to leave with her, Rebecca being one of them, much to Caleb’s dismay. She needs help getting out, but our little prophet is clever, Naomi targets HSI agent Bryce—she tells him that there’s going to be an earthquake in Peru, 7.3 on the scale. She tries to bribe him, tells him she can make him wealthy because she knows the future. When her prediction later comes true, Bryce says he’s interested. Naomi wants him to get her and the others out, but he tells her he can’t do that. So Naomi gets another agent, EJ, to help them. As he’s leading them into the woods, Bryce shows up and tries to stop them. Shots are fired, and Roy and Caleb run into the woods to find a wounded Bryce on the ground, and the refugees gone.

Didn’t See That Coming!

Now for the big shocker tonight—Rebecca has really been struggling with the loss of her daughter, with how she and Caleb left her behind after she was taken by APEX. In this episode especially, we see how this has driven her and Caleb apart, and this is partly why Rebecca has chosen to follow Naomi. But guess what? Rachel is closer than Rebecca knows. At the end of the show, Lindauer goes home and says goodnight to his daughter—you guessed it, Rachel. WTH? Lindauer has Rachel? How? At first I was thinking it wasn’t even possible because the first group came through ten years earlier, how would he have had Rachel at that point? But then I remembered that for the other refugees, it had only been two months since the first group left. But how did he get her from the APEX? Is Lindauer APEX? Hmmmm. So many questions.

We Deserve to Live

WDTL-We Deserve to Live– an ominous tag painted on one of the cabins sums up how The Crossing fans are feeling. It’s hard to say goodbye to these characters that we’ve gotten to know the last two months. They deserve more time, the show deserves more time. It’s going to be bittersweet, for sure, but this Saturday history will be rewritten as The Crossing comes to its shocking conclusion in a 2 hour finale. You DO NOT want to miss this!
