SWAT Episode 17

SWAT Episode 17

Lifestyles of The Rich and The Famous

This weeks episode starts off with an amazing aerial view of a pretty expensive house. Beautiful pool, nice size property, and of course some pricey cars to match. A man pulls up into the driveway of the house and walks in yelling to his wife that he forgot something for work.

Now, almost every television episode everywhere that starts off with intense and suspense building music, you know the house is about to become a crime scene.

We see the husband heading upstairs and you just know something bad is on the other side.

I’m not covering my eyes, you are!

Just kidding, she’s fine. His wife is playing model by herself in front of a mirror and he’s wondering why she didn’t answer. Well, he leaves and we find out.

Is that a naked Street?!?

Yep! He pops out of the bathroom claiming he’s shocked that she’s married. Okay, guy. He scoops up his clothes, jumps from the second floor into the pool and narrowly escapes.

Moving on to the main reason we watch SWAT, the criminals.

How do you make any drama/crime show better? Plenty of cop car chases.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

While SWAT gets the call at the station, a car chase is in pursuit. A man driving waving a gun with what seems to be a dead guy in the front passenger seat and no shortage of cop cars closing in. Cops lay out the spike strips and the gun-wielding lunatic crashes and flips the truck over.

He hops out of the car, over a fence into a backyard and ends up taking a family hostage. The criminal, Angel, demands a car saying that he has to take care of something to save his sister. Jess, the negotiator of this crisis, tries to talk Angel down while buying Hondo and the team time to get in there.

Jess exchanges a hostage for the car and SWAT steps in to deliver the keys. The only problem is, they aren’t real keys, but a decoy to throw in a defense rubber pellet grenade. Somehow Angel narrowly escapes the painful explosion but SWAT moves in and grabs him anyway. One more criminal for the list.

Papa Deacon Part II

Back at the station, Luca, Deacon, and Tan help Julian, the son from the family held hostage, finish his project for an upcoming competition. When they threw in the defense grenade, the pellets destroyed his medical drone. They felt bad so they let him use the station and anything else he needs to finish in time.

Bad guy captured, helping the neighborhood kids, and Commissioner Plank reassuring Jess that she’s doing a great job as captain. Everything just seems like a normal day for SWAT. What else could go wrong?

Spoke too soon…

While escorting Angel to a cell at the station, the two cops get blindsided by him escaping his handcuffs and shooting one of them with their own gun. Angel runs into the station armory where Jess and Plank happen to be. He locks the three of them inside and fires off a rifle into the ceiling, telling Jess that she didn’t listen before but she will now.

By now the entire station heard the shots and are surrounding the armory. Angel starts to tell Jess and Plank that Los Reyes have his sister hostage and they will kill her unless he does a job for them.

While the team is trying to find a way to break into their own armory, Hicks calls down the Angel of Death, a former SWAT member, to take care of their hostage situation. As he lines up his shot to take Angel out, Jess steps in the line of fire to save him. She believes Angel and gets Hondo to help find his sister Abby.

After following Angel’s instructions to find his mother to help track down Abby, the team moves in on her house and find her locked in a fridge. They bring his mom down to the station to talk him into letting Plank and Jess go.

Seems like they have some issues to work out.

“Our little mother-son reunion just made things worse.” – Hondo

The team does some digging and finds a possible location where Abby might be, a butcher shop. They move into the building just in time and save her from being chopped up into pieces.

Back at the station, Jess gets the jump on Angel and end up clearing a shot to disarm him. Jess and Plank escape the armory in one piece but the Angel pulls a pin on a grenade and everyone braces themselves.

He starts to take the guilt and the blame for what happened to his sister. The team brings Abby in to talk some sense into him. It works and they get the grenade away from Angel. Everyone is safe and for the most part in one piece. Just another day in the life of SWAT.

Love Doctor

During the whole hostage situation in the armory, Chris offers to help Street with his dating game, literally. Giving him pointers on his profile pictures and how he describes himself. She eventually finds a match for him, which he reluctantly agrees to until he meets the girl. They are like a match made in Ducati heaven.

Medicopter

At the end of the day, the team helped Julian pull an all-nighter to finish his drone. Realizing what time it was, he only had a short window to make it to the building to check in. Naturally, the team helps Julian get to the competition, SWAT-style with an escort and everything.

That wraps up this weeks episode of SWAT. Come back for next week’s episode where things are starting to look very emotional.
