The trailer for Bosch season 6 tells us we are in for a high octane ride along.

Thrilled fans recently learned that Bosch season 6 drops on Prime Video April 17th. Meanwhile, we have a little taste of the action from the season 6 trailer. What can we glean from just under 2 minutes of footage?

Threats

The voiceover narration alerts us to stolen radioactive material. We hear Bosch indicating that the contraband could be used to infect the water supply or create a bomb. Bosch and Edgar are called to the scene of a homicide where the victim is a medical physicist.

J. Edgar is still on the trail of Jacques Avril. We see an encounter with the two men. Avril says, “The world is full of angry, vengeful men.” Edgar in turn responds, “Yeah, I’m one of them.” Who is threatening who? It sounds like it goes both ways.

We see a brief shot of Elizabeth Clayton slugging someone. You may not recognize her at first. Clayton has cleaner physical appearance suggesting she is clean from drugs as well. Of course, it’s hard to tell if her punch is a response to being threatened or an act of threatening someone else.

Time Sensitivity

Did you notice all airships in the trailer? You can even hear the chopper blades in some places. Airships are often associated with rescue and a sense of urgency.

Jerry has a “personal protection device”. It begins beeping in the trailer and means Edgar and Bosch have to make a quick exit. I suspect it’s safe to assume the device is some sort of radiation detector given the description of the stolen material.

An advisor tells Chief Irving, “Every passing hour the odds of a dirty bomb detonating in the greater Los Angeles area escalates.” Mayor Ramos expresses fears about “another 9/11”.

Collaboration

“The Feds have landed”, says Harry.  Then again, maybe collaboration is not the best descriptor. The FBI and LAPD are supposed to be working together on the threat from the stolen radioactive materials. In reality, Harry and the Feds are already mincing words.

We get a glimpse of Julie Ann Emery in her portrayal of Agent Reece. Reece tells Harry , “Make sure you stay in your lane”. Harry’s response? “My lane has no lines.”

While Harry’s pairing with the FBI sounds a little dicey, we can still count on the powerful duo of Harry and J. Edgar. Seeing the two detectives work side by side in the trailer is always a welcome sight!

A somber Harry

Is it just me or does Harry seem a little more somber than usual in the trailer? I certainly cannot blame him if that is the case. He still appears to be looking into the Daisy Clayton murder, a very sad situation indeed.

In one scene, Maddie urges her father to be safe. We also see Harry in a hospital gown in what appears to be a quarantine location. That can’t feel good.

What stood out to you in the Bosch season 6 trailer? Have you read the books from which this season draws? Executive Producer and novelist Michael Connelly said this season pulls from his novels The Overlook and Dark Sacred Night.

April 17th is the release date for Amazon’s Bosch season 6 on Prime Video. Prime Video releases the entire season at the same time.
