‘Motherland: Fort Salem’ recap “Hail Beltane”

After trying to save Porter, Raelle reveals that Porter might not have willingly jumped. She had absorbed some of his feelings and says he didn’t want to die. Some immediately suspect the Spree, but General Adler wants to wake Porter to be sure. Scylla should be getting nervous. Waking Porter means she’ll be found out.

Abigail’s mother visits the base and when she doesn’t get her way with General Alder, she takes her frustrations out on Abigail. Abigail doesn’t let this shake her so that she makes sure Tally has a good Beltane.

The co-ed training begins but Raelle goes to visit Scylla to get answers. Instead, she gets a vision from Porter’s confrontation. She’s not as good as Abigail at letting things go. At the dance, the soldiers dance in a spectacular dance number to let the magic guide them. The soldiers then enjoy the night together. Hail Beltane!

Porter’s friend solidifies Raelle’s suspicions that he didn’t kill himself. She confronts Scylla who gaslights her into leaving her alone. Scylla then tries to sabotage the body but it’s too late. Porter is awake but he doesn’t tell the truth. He says he killed himself because he was sad, meaning Scylla is off the hook.

Meanwhile, Anacostia and some other soldiers check every mirror for Spree residue. Abigail’s mother misses the residue in Scylla’s mirror.

It turns out Scylla isn’t the only Spree on base… her next mission is
