After running into a Kunami ship that’s hauling garbage – Americas naval ship, Verona, finds itself stranded in the middle of dangerous waters. Relations with the country of Kunmai are not great and this accident could potentially cause international war.

Following the Collison with the Kunami ship, Lieutenant Will Griffin (Gregory Smith), is the highest surviving officer on the naval ship Verona. Inexperienced and not ready to lead, Lieutenant Griffin reluctantly accepts President Kirkman’s designation of Captain. Trying not to alarm the sailors, President Kirkman does not disclose the imminent threat of incoming hostile ships. He reassures Captain Griffin they will be rescued.
While in the war room with his staff, the President is briefed on the counterintelligence aboard the Verona. The United States is spying on the country of Kunami. Recordings on the ship prove this. If this information falls into the wrong hands the United States is compromised.
Further investigation reveals, the device needed is underwater and can’t be retrieved by the crew. Talk about a tough spot. The ship is sinking, enemy ships approaching, and crucial counterintelligence can’t be retrieved. What’s a President to do?
Threats of violence are issued from The Emir of Kunami. If the United States enters their waters, it will be deemed an act of war. The Emir is demanding the current sanctions on their country be lifted and their uranium program reinstated. Only then will American ships be allowed to rescue the Verona.
Determined to rescue the crew, the President issues an executive order to abandon the ship and bring the crew and casualties home. He is calling the Emir’s bluff.
Intent on preserving the secrets of America, Captain Will Griffin made the ultimate sacrifice and goes down with the ship, guaranteeing the counterintelligence is destroyed.
I wonder why the President didn’t try to recover this evidence with experienced divers? Or bomb Kunami?
Proof of Life
The murder of Charlotte Thorn (Larissa Gnomes), is creating an international uproar. FBI agent Hannah Wells (Maggie Q) and MI6 agent Damian Rennett (Ben Lawson) interrogate Catherine Cray (Michelle Nolden). She is accused of murder, gun smuggling, and espionage. Peyton Lane (Cariba Heine), Ms. Thorn’s aid is kidnapped during Mrs. Crays questioning.
CARIBA HEINE, NICOLAS VAN BUREK, MAGGIE Q, BEN LAWSON
The kidnappers demand the immediate extradition of Darius Cray(Paul Amos )to Malaysia. If extradited his charges will be a slap on the wrist with no real jail time. The hunt to find Ms. Lane before she is killed intensifies. During the search, I never thought they’d kill Ms. Lane. I did think she was involved with Darius Cray and staged her own kidnapping. I was wrong, the true kidnapper is Mrs. Cray who is an international arms smuggler
(I didn’t see that coming).
After rescuing Ms. Lane, Mrs. Cray admits to arms smuggling but denies killing Charlotte Thorn. Further investigation clears her of murder. However, the question remains who killed Charlotte Thorn? Everyone is guilty until proven innocent. Will this murder connect to Patrick Lloyd?
Mother-In-Law chronicles
The case against Eva Booker(Bonnie Bedelia) just won’t go away. After winning a motion, White House counsel Kendra Daynes(Zoe McLellan) asks Eva to sign a Federal document. This document allows Eva to provide full discloser of her crime without consequence.
Eva refuses to sign and admits that she lied under oath. This exposes the White House to a huge liability on the Federal level. Remember, First Lady Kirkman (Natascha McElhone) corroborated her mother’s story under oath. Both women can be charged with perjury.
This season of Designated Survivor is really shaping up to be a nail-biter.
The series returns Wednesday, November 15 at 10p on ABC
After watching tonight’s episode I’m left with three questions
1. Who Killed Charlotte Thorn
2. Is Eva Booker working with Patrick Lloyd
3. Will President Kirkman break the law to save his wife
