9-1-1: Lone Star coming to FOX

9-1-1: Lone Star

If you’re a fan of 9-1-1 you don’t want to miss out on FOX’s newest spin-off 9-1-1: Lone Star. The hit series is taking on new territory by heading to Texas with Lone Star.

What is it?

The new series, created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuck, and Tim Minear, will have a special two-night debut event starting Sunday January 19th following the NFL NFC Championship and continuing Monday January 20th. The spin-off will star Rob Lowe (“The Grinder,” “Parks and Recreation,” “The West Wing”) “as a sophisticated New York fireman who, along with his adult son, re-locates to Austin and must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in his own life.”

Who?

The cast includes Liv Tyler (“The Leftovers”), Jim Parrack (“True Blood”), Sierra McClain, Ronen Rubinstein, Brian Michael Smith, Natacha Karam, Julian Works, and Rafael Silva as series regulars.

The series is continuing to push the boundaries of television with its casting and character representation. Karam (“The Brave”) will be portraying Marjan Marwani a devote Muslim firefighter who is also an adrenaline junkie. Smith (“Queen Sugar”) will play Paul Strickland, a transgender male firefighter who “has a gift for observation worthy of Sherlock Holmes.” Smith, himself, is a transgender male and will bring authenticity to the role. It’s important to add he is the second notable transgender casting for a broadcast TV Series.

Stay tuned for more information and reviews as we get closer to Lone Star’s premiere date.
