Colony Season 3 Misinformation – Think Twice!
If you’re like me, you were hoping for the return of USA Network’s Colony in January. Unfortunately, that never came to be… Was it because production moved to Vancouver? Were there other delays in production? Did Broussard hijack the director’s trailer and demand more scenes with Snyder? It’s possible. Whatever the reason for this unexpected delay – There’s been A LOT of misinformation regarding the season 3 premiere date and I wanted to try and clear a few things up for my fellow fans.
Don’t Believe Everything You Read
If you don’t see an official communication – or – an article linking to official communcations and/or statements from a show’s creator, production company, or television network… Take it with a grain of salt. There will always be a lot of speculation and rumors around TV shows, but that’s what it is: rumors or speculation.
March 18th
A few weeks ago there was a date of March 18th listed for Colony S3 on IMDb. Good source. Reputable website, right? Correct. Except…it was edited information from an unnamed source. A lot of buzz was created from this small edit, but in reality – it’s all nonsense. It’s not even a Thursday – It’s a Sunday! Wouldn’t there have been a small press release from USA Network regarding that kind of change? Short answer: Yes.
I reached out to USA Network’s PR department regarding this bogus S3 date and this was their response:
This date is not accurate. We do not yet have a confirmed premiere date for Season 3 of Colony…
July 5, 6 & 7?!
Another website recently listed July 5th as the new release date. People started talking again. Then approximately 24 hours later – they altered the date to July 6th (a Friday.) And, now, this morning – July 7th. See pics:
So which is it? 5th? 6th? 7th? Why not update it to February 30th? Again, if it doesn’t come from someone directly involved with the creation or production of the show – Ignore it.
What Could Have Been
I will say this: It could have been ANY of those dates. It may end up that one of them is correct. But without an official source or a credible link – It’s simply something you should not consider yet. Not to mention… Don’t you think some of the key actors (who are very active on social media) would have said something?
