It’s a matter of who knows what and when in the fast-paced Bosch season 6.

Amazon Prime original series Bosch drops its new season on April 17th. Be ready to grab hold! Bosch continues to bring rich storytelling with Titus Welliver leading the way in both a soulful and dynamic portrayal of Detective Harry Bosch.

As it has been from the beginning, Bosch is written smartly with great attention to detail and accuracy. It may require of a few web searches to fully understand some dialogue, but it is worth the effort. Pay attention.

Take a look at my early thoughts on Bosch season 6.

Time is of the essence

Things move fast when Bosch and J. Edgar catch a homicide case that involves stolen radioactive material. Add inter-agency cooperation (or lack thereof) to the mix and you have a lot of moving parts that are time sensitive.

Aside from a time sensitive threat, the characters also face the effects of media stories impacting the timing of their responses and choices in the case. Bosch takes great care to consider how social media and technology impact the storytelling. And, of course, The Los Angeles Times continues to be a player.

The information highway

Information can be shared or it can be withheld. It can be timely or long overdue. Sometimes you have information, but you have to decide when to use it. One character specifically refers to this “leverage” in season 6.

Let us not forget the impact of command in dealing with all of the information at hand. Some command officers are better at sharing information than others. It can be a high stakes negotiation when a detective needs enough information to get a judge to sign an important warrant.

Regardless of these different circumstances, it’s all these bits of information that collectively tell a complex group of stories in Bosch season 6.

When old becomes new

The series continues to pull on threads from the past. So, all of you doing your re-watches may have an advantage.

Bosch season 6 expertly brings old characters to the surface with new stories and circumstances.

Cold cases are a signature part of Bosch. Season 6 is no exception. Our Hollywood Division favorites are relentless in their pursuit of justice whether the victim is long gone or recently taken.

Hope

Let us not forget that Bosch also saves a spot for hope.

Last season’s return of dog Coltrane at the end of episode 10 had fans sighing a breath of relief. Even more so, viewers knew that Harry’s connection with the dog was an important part of Harry’s well-being.

Hope resurfaces when grieving families entrust our detectives with finding their loved ones’ killer. Hope also comes in the form of evolving relationships on Bosch.

Homicide investigation is serious work, but Bosch finds a way to tell the whole story, the emotional story alongside the tactical aspects of solving a crime.

Get ready for a completely enthralling new season of Bosch. The execution of Bosch is a well-oiled machine whose writers, crew, actors and producers collaborate to bring us inside the heart and mission of Harry Bosch.

Bosch season 6 arrives April 17th on Amazon Prime.
