Madison Lintz talks about playing Harry’s daughter Maddie on Bosch.
Madison Lintz opens up about her character’s relationship with Harry, the challenge of teaching him about social media and more in our exclusive interview with the talented actress.
Fans of the Amazon Prime original series Bosch have watched Maddie’s relationship with her father, Harry Bosch, grow and develop over the first three seasons of the popular series based on the novels by Michael Connelly.

Maddie is just getting to know her day better in season one. She is rescued by him in season two. And in season three of Bosch, we see Maddie growing up, learning to drive and getting a closer look into her father’s profession, both the good and the bad.
Of course, we cannot forget about Maddie’s relationship with her mother, Eleanor Wish. While Maddie’s parents are divorced, the three of them are strongly bonded. Maddie gets insight from both of her parents’ backgrounds in law enforcement.
Madison gives us some great clues as we try to crack the case of what it is like to portray Harry Bosch’s daughter.
Being a Bosch
What do you think Maddie likes the most about living with her dad?
Madison: She hadn’t really been a part of her dad’s life for a while, so it’s like they’re just starting to catch up. She also really looks up to her father and wants to follow in his footsteps.
It seems like sometimes Maddie is the one taking care of her parents instead of vice versa. Would you agree? If so, why do you think that is?
Madison: I think Maddie is very mature for her age, and she definitely plays a part in keeping bother her parents grounded. Eleanor and Harry both are very dedicated to equally taxing jobs, and can definitely be more frazzled at times. And so that’s another reason Maddie feels the need to make sure they’re getting things like sleep and dinner. Lol!
It’s probably safe to say that Maddie knows more about technology and social media than Harry. How does Maddie feel about that?
Madison: Harry has his missions; Maddie has hers. She strives every day to educate her father in the world of Instagram and Twitter and Facebook, etc. as most kids my age do, I think.

An actor’s life
The Bosch series addresses some pretty heavy material. Is it ever hard to shake that after work?
Madison: I love working with heavier material, personally. It allows for more character development. But, even with that being said, as an actor you have to take the precautions necessary to ensure that the heaviness and sadness do not stick with you! You have to have a thick skin in this business. There’s a lot of rejection. Shaking things off has to be an actor’s middle name!
Madison is part of an acting family. Her mother and siblings are actively involved with different projects. Fans of The Alienist will recognize brother Matt as Stevie Taggert. The Walking Dead fans know brother Macsen as young Henry. Sister Mackenzie played a starring role in Under the Dome and can currently be seen in the film Love, Simon.
Do you and your siblings go to each other for acting advice or spend much time talking about your projects? Or do you leave that “at work”?
Madison: My siblings and I are very supportive of each other. In an industry that’s so competitive I’m very, very thankful for that! We mainly talk “business” with our parents, as they have been the main reason for our success. We discuss the fun parts of the industry with each other on occasion.
Georgia on her mind
Being from the Atlanta area myself, I wonder what do you miss most from the East Coast when you are on the West Coast (aside from friends and family)?
Madison: Oh man. That’s a long list! I miss sweet tea, and the biscuits my boyfriend’s mom makes. I miss all the trees in Georgia, and the just the landscape in general! Don’t get me wrong, I think L.A. is beautiful, it’s just an entirely different terrain from what I’m used to. I also miss my cats a great deal.
